there's one distinction in the dub versus sub - in the original deku says give me my bakugo back which is why mr compress says bakugo is no one's and he belongs to himself. and i love it so much, like give me MY bakugo back? LOVE IT

when you guys finish MHA you should check out to black clover it is a very similar show as far as the characters are concerned but the main character has a much more wholesome rivalry then bakugo and deku

When I first started watching MHA, this was actually the newest episode that was out at the time. I marathoned the entire show and caught up in a matter of days.

I've never taken it as Bakugo thinking "wait, they want me?" and more as Bakugo thinking "They're talking about me like I'm cargo." That wouldn't sit well with a character that has his level of pride and insecurity about his own power.

Also, his backstory is pretty sad. He grew up in rural Japan, where there's stigma against mutant type quirks. He was horribly disfigured in a hate crime and has scars all over his face. His face scared someone once and he doesn't like people being scared of him so that's why he wears a mask.

This episode is one of the only moments we really get to see Shoji act in a major capacity. I really like him as a character. He just seems like a great guy, and whenever he does show up he's always shown to care deeply about his friends. His quirk is also just one of the weirdest and out there in the show.
