the episode isn't actually a reference to Five nights at Freddy's at all, this in fact came out a couple of months prior to the release of Fnaf 1 believe it or not!

one of the alternate plots for the end of the episode was that Rumble and Giffany were going to end up together, so she'd have somewhat of a happy ending

The title is based on the movie: Lars and the Real Girl. Which is about a guy who falls in love with, if I remember correctly, a manikin. Which came out in 2007. So some parallels.

I was gonna say the same thing! this episode premiered on Septembre 22 2014, but the episode was written in July. the second season was released in august 1st 2014 on Disney channel and Five nights at Freddie's came out august 8th, so all the timings are so incredibly close together is such a cool coincidence lol.

Doki Doki literature club is a dating simulator that turns into a horror game where the girl wants to get with you irl, so basically that's how this episode predicted 2 horror games in one episode

Fun Fact, this episode came out before FNAF and Doki Doki Literature Club. All the similarities are actually just genuine coincidences. (Technically FNAF came out like 20 days before this episode but still) EDIT: Rip, spoke too soon, you guys discuss it in the questions. I assumed sense you didn't mention it initially you guys weren't aware (which was true but someone else already beat me to it by several weeks in the questions lol)
