Shirley doesn't get nearly enough development or screen-time, but her pure undying love for Lelouch, forgiving him and her lines here about how she will always fall in love with him in any life she will live, makes her such an endearing character to me. Shirley's love for Lelouch and her death will always have me in tears.

The end of this episode highlights a big difference between Light and Lelouch. I don't think Light would cry over losing anyone and would only shed tears over losing the Death Note itself LOL.

If Code Geass is approaching the End Game then Shirley dying is like the Black Widow dying. Coincidentally both first tried to commit suicide by falling off a ledge. Plus I'll say it. Just like Hawkeye only considered the Black Widow as a friend and married someone else, Lelouch only considered Shirley as a friend and not a future wife.

Something interesting to note Lelouche jumped off a building to save Shirley, as much as he usually thinks about things he has a tendency to be impulsive towards things he loves. I find it extremely unlikely that he had the time to consider that Suzaku may have been able to catch him, I believe he gut response jumped off to save her. Side note: Jeremiah's new coat has a reverse Geass in its back design, also just like Lelouche on Kamine Island, V.V.'s head wound gave him a Geass like pattern in blood

Im conflicted on Shirley I felt lulu had too many love interest makes it harder to engage when your main character can jump between 5 girls but this is a prob with anime overall. she seemed for me underdeveloped but I feel the same way about the other girls lulu could potentially have been with, they each needed a bit more one on one time, c2 wins in terms of engagement for me simply because she’s super tied to the plot and thus stuck around him

I do get what Shirley means about nothing being unforgivable. She's essentially saying that calling something unforgivable is a way of absolving ones self of any agency in the decision to forgive or not forgive. That at the end of the day it's always a choice no matter the situation.

I think one major factor regarding the logic Shirley is using for forgiveness is she doesn't have the full context of why Suzaku is angry. For Shirley, she had reasonable reason to assume Lelouch didn't intentionally kill her father. Unfortunately, Suzaku has every reason to believe that Lelouch made the massacre happen on purpose.

PLEASE consider watching Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World its so dam good the story is so good and the psychological impacts on the characters and the viewers is breath taking. Montana would be tearbending so much.
