What Ford did on the other side of the portal isn’t revealed in the show! We can only speculate what he went through by his new skills and knowledge, and what little he talks about, within the eps he’s present. At least, until the IRL Journal 3 was available for purchase a few months after the shows finale (DONT look into it, it’s got HEAVY SPOILERS)

I know that one of the reasons that Ford is so angry aside from a lack of appreciation for his brother (not without reason tbf) is due to apparently cornering bill with a one use gun to actually take him down and had him on the ropes, when Stan brought him back and Bill used that time to escape and destroy the gun. also There's a theory that Bill sabotaged the perpetual motion machine and has been watching him since they were kids or that it was fragile to begin with and would have broken when he actually tested it

Adding to that, he was probably dealing with shapeshifters, mind control, possession and other things both before and during his unwanted trip around the multiverse.

He was lost among the multiverse and on the run from Bill's forces along with other dangers. It makes sense that Ford isn't over what happened yet, because his top priority was survival and family issues were on the backburner. Fun Fact: there are fan theories that Ford's been to amphibia, the boiling isles and maybe even met Rick and Morty

I think also the "trapped in a hell dimension for over 30 years" is another not so good thing lol. If this wasn't a kid's show, who's to say that one wouldn't also kill themselves after thinking they were trapped forever.

To be fair on fords part, he obviously was getting visions/hallucinations from bill, and then his own brother who seemingly sabotaged his perfect college comes in, calls him selfish, knocks him into the portal, and then takes his lives work and turns it into some kind of cheap joke for kids and tourists, I’d be pretty sour

If I may, I don't ask questions on here because I'm watching this show the first time right along with y'all. But now a question does occur to me... What happened to Ford during all that time? It's clear that Ford holds a grudge to stan because of what happened. And it's potentially understandable because we currently have NO IDEA what happened to him in the other universe. I'd argue it was bad, at least on the fact that Ford came back and kicked Stan's ass (where as stan WAS the tougher of the two as kids) and could well involve having been fighting against bill cypher this whole time.

You also had Stan’s car with the license plate that says STNLY but we’ve only heard him called Stanford. And in the fishing episode you have the Stan o’ War boat and how upset Stan was that the kids didn’t want to hangout with him. There are so many hints throughout that you’ll notice if you watch again! Love this show! I’m excited to see what you both think of the end.

To cover all of the references from this episode would take an essay (which someone has surely already written), but there are a few that I want to point out. First or all, the car that we've seen Stan(ley) driving this entire series has a vanity plate that reads STNLYMBL. It is shown in this episode that he's had this car since he left home. The boat that Stan and Ford find as children and fix up is named the Stan o' War, just like Stan's boat in Legend of the Goblewonker. There were 2 flashbacks in Dreamscaperers, that get called back in this episode. The first one is Stan trying to sell a Stan Co. vacuum (It sucks more than anything). Here we see a few more Stan Co. products, the Sham Total, the Rip off, and the Total Racquet. Also, there is a flashback to when Stan's dad made both Stan and Ford take boxing lessons. Ford makes an appearance there, hidden behind the book he is reading, but here we are shown a photo of the two of them as teenagers, still taking lessons. The last thing I want to point out is the cypher for this episode. When translated, it reads "A stubborn tough New Jersey native, Filbrick wasn't too creative. Having twins was not his plan, so he just shrugged and named both Stan". This is my favorite cypher of the series.
