On a separate note, You see Knight of 1 more in this episode than previous ones, his left eye is sewn shut, any theories as to why?

Suzaku now believes the ends do justify the means, he uses the massacre he accidentally caused to further his goal much like Lelouch did with the Euphy massacre and as he attempted to assassinate the emperor he claimed Lelouch and Nunnally's despair were in his sword.
