Agreed, All Might is phenomenal for moral support and helps ground Deku when his habit of overthinking stuff goes haywire, but a lot of All Might's technical mentorship boils down to "do what feels right." Endeavor, within a only few days, has a more clear and structured plan on how to train and develop a superpower he himself doesn't even have. The driving analogy is honestly a better illustration on how to train One for All than anything All Might has said in 5 seasons.

MHA movies are so confusing because some of each movies is technically canon - lol second movie confirmed canon but I guess they don't talk about it just like Deku never talks about his Dad

God, I'm always blown away by how good of a teacher Endeavor is. If he'd been this way with Shoto from the beginning not only would he not gotten the Worst Father Alive award, Shoto would probably be far and away the best student at UA by now.

In terms of improving his quirk, definitely. However All Might's guidance is still invaluable because even when he doesn't know how to help, he'll either figure out how or he'll point Deku in the right direction- whether that's through another teacher or a mindset he needs to have. Of course the moral support also goes a long way. He believed in him even when no one else did. I think Deku realizes this as well, as he said in this episode- All Might gave him more than just a quirk.

I just checked and I would hardly call it a"prologue," it was a complete filler except for one small line at the very end of the episode and even then it was more like an "easter egg" than a prologue.

Regarding y’all’s discussion about Endeavors words at the end where he says their failure/success won’t be a reflection of the #1 hero — in the sub he says essentially “don’t worry, you can fail as much as you need without worry — it won’t hinder me, do your best”. It’s absolutely meant to reassure them that he’s got it under control.

Yeah I kinda agree to an extent. When it comes to developing Deku’s skills, Endeavor and even Gran Torino were better than All Might. But All Might knows better than anyone the type of hero Deku wants to be so he focuses on Deku’s overall mentality of being a hero, which I would say is just as important

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but Endeavor is a much better teacher for Deku than All Might. All Might is a prodigy and never really understood Deku's point of view. All Might never really had to train hard to control One For All. Endeavor has become number one through years of hard training with a very dangerous Quirk that he has to keep under control to avoid hurting others. Endeavor was not a good person but he is a damn good hero and for that he has my respect.

This is actually the episode from Season 5 I go back to watch the most. The final scene with Endeavor and the 1A Big Three about building skills brick by brick is something I go back to in tough times as a reminder to just identify the direction I want to go and take one step at a time. Very good episode, music is top tier, I get all the feels.

Kenny you're all caught up, correct? If so, my question is do you like or dislike Endeavor? I know you're kind of playing the more neutral roll for Montana's sake (so that you don't spoil her or influence her opinions one way or another). But I've always been curious about your overall opinion of his character.
