I was going to say that they mention a specific anatomical difference in the toe that identifies quirkless people, but I suppose it was the Doctor that told them that so you could argue maybe he was luing

i think the reason they do My villain Acedemia at this part of the season is so when you watch the series as a whole it segways better into the next arc that starts season 6

The ordering of the arcs is weird, but I do like getting a slower paced break after Eri’s rescue before getting into this arc.

36:17 idk if the anime ever mentions it but in the Manga of the material they covered way back in Season 1, Inko (dekus mom) says that her husband (dekus dad) works overseas. I would presume that he does talk to deku and his mom, we're just never shown it. The author of the manga did promise yearssss ago after season 2 of the anime came out, to show dekus dad once before the manga ends so that should be coming in the next 3 weeks

I just went back to episode 1 to see your reaction to the doctor and the look you gave the camera was amazing! I didn't realize it was the same doctor until this point either. I agree with Kenny for the most part, but I don't think the doctor actually took Deku's quirk, but I think he might be a doctor in a place like this to scout out potential good quirks for All for One. Love the reactions! I can't wait until you guys watch season 6 and catch up to season 7!

It's really just the way he starts the last sentence. He said "He did this..." without breaking from the previous sentence and it feels like he's about to start another half to his rant but it's actually the final sentence of the whole thing. Definitely sounds weird.

The Doctor's taking Deku's quirk and just saying he's quirkless is a fav theory in MHA of mine bc it's pretty plausible considering the Doctor's history and they fact that he's been secretly experimenting at the hospital he's been working at without the patients' knowledge like If that were true it'd be like AOT level of plot points connecting to random things in the beginning coming in full circle and I'm 100% here for it

Without confirmation I would assume that's a fan theory. The anime industry exists financially to sell manga in Japan. They generally don't care about anime-only watchers. The second movie, for instance, was released immediately after season 4 despite several references to events in season 5.

I'd forgotten you reacted that way when you first saw The Doctor. Just went back and rewatched that part. You went from tearing up from the "I am here" to absolutely shocked within just a few seconds. TBF, I was shocked, too, when I first realized who that was.

Quirks grow with the person. Remember young Bakugou with his little firework type hands? Shigaraki's quirk didn't start off as complete disintegration. Thus, body parts could be left.

Yeah, that's what I always assumed too. They wanted to end the season with a bang.

They switch the arc around because the MHA anime is adverted as kid friendly and a show where you root for the heroes. This arc is dark, somewhat uncomfortable and makes you kinda root for the villains.

Now that you said it, I find it odd that there's literally ZERO mention EVER about dekus dad (outside of, I THINK, episode 1 when his mom mentioned his quirk?) I remember watching your face that first episode when it hit you who the Dr was 🤣🤣🤣 but that's actually quite an interesting theory! Did Montana piece together that this is the same meta liberation army that hawks mentioned to endeavor that's about to attack in a few months?

The movie came out during the 5th season and takes place after the events of endeavor agency. So they decided to switch the arcs so anime only who wanted to watch the movie could have proper context
