The fact that Kenny hasnt seen Gurren Lagann but has scene one scene made me happy. It was enough for him to recognize greatness recognizes greatness. The animators paid homage to Gurren and other anime as well this season. Also Gurren Lagann is the epitome of hype and willpower, so I hope you guys watch it one day.

Good eye Kenny! Almost all of that final sequence was directly inspired by Gurren Lagann. Some of the earlier shots of Ultimate Mechamaru were also directly inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion!

Old man Zen’in is the head of the Zen’in Clan. He’s the old guy at 23:50 in charge of the group with Maki and Kugisaki. He also appears in Maki’s flashback in season 1, when Maki told him she was leaving the clan but would return one day to become its new leader.

I strongly recommend checking out Frieren: Beyond Journey's End!!! it is one of my top anime of all time! The fantasy and world building are incredible, the themes are subversive to your expectations, and the art is just absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention, it has some of the most incredible fight scenes I have ever seen. Better than Full Metal even.

A short anime that recently came out and was a lot of fun is called Wind Breaker. It will also have more seasons in the future but for now, it only has 13 episodes. It is pretty different from other shows on the channel so far, but it has a lot of heart so you may enjoy it. For longer anime HunterxHunter is a great option and so is Haikyu. Both have great characters and wonderful themes.

For shorter anime Kaiju Number 8 is really good, recent and sits right at 12 episodes for it's first season. It borrows a lot from Attack on Titan but not in a bad way. I also really like Trigun Stampede, also 12 episodes for it's first season but season 2 recently got announced and it's the finale. Frieren is great but the first season is 28 episodes and its a slow burn.
