Montana is right his quirk singularity theory is total BS, AFO is only interested in it because he steals multiple quirks and also gives them to his subordinates. However just giving someone a quirk doesn’t make their body capable of handling that quirk and AFO subordinates would sometimes die as a result of the incompatibility. Deku for example had to train for 8 months before he could inherit OFA and it still messed him up However that’s all the result of deliberately altering someone’s DNA in a very imprecise way and not how Quirks, DNA, and Evolution work naturally. Deku was born without a quirk despite being born to parents who both had Quirks. This proves that there’s an upper limit to the % of the population that has quirks since not everyone inherits one. Then there’s the Todoroki family where Endeavour went out of his way to deliberately create a more powerful Quirk and it took him 4 attempts. Let’s also not forget about people like Eri who gain a totally random mutation that has nothing to do with either parent. Every single instance of someone’s body being unable to handle their quirk is because someone was deliberately trying to manipulate DNA, it’s not something that happens naturally as this guy suggests

The aizawa all might scene always touches me I like how there relationship grew over time. Even just aizawa thanking him for his offer to help teaching Eri now when he felt all might used to be a bad teacher is nice because old him would've declined or said something smart but he clearly appreciated and likes all might more now and has been slowly for awhile and it's small but just gets to me in the feels for some reason lol

I'm going to admit Montana changed my mind on season 5. Genuinely was my least favorite season and I had a lot of criticisms about it and I guess I still do but wow the way she just explained that and frame that and obviously having watched it again with you guys I think I like it a lot more now and I know longer think it's a bad season

Bakugo is so unironically hilarious it kills me. Like yeah he's still aggressively argues with deku but if you notice, he has started to treat deku like he does his other friends like kirishima and Kamanari. Oh the budding friendship is so adorable

The Joint Battle Arc had an outrageous amount of recaps and flashbacks as they stretched 6-7 episodes of content to 11 episodes. The manga chapters in that arc were very short due to Horikoshi struggling with his health at the time. Whenever new stuff was going on throughout the season it was good, the first half was just really poorly paced and artificially stretched. It does serve the purpose of making the end of season 5 set up the war, but I would argue the better option would have been to make it a 21 episode season then. I think they learned the lesson from season 5 and that's why season 7 is going to be a shorter season.

Btw there's a short 4 minutes long OVA called "Departure" that acts as a prequel to the 3rd movie and I think it would be cool if you watched it before the movie, its not THAT important for the plot but I still think it would be really fun to include.

I don't think season 5 was bad, it's just not that action heavy as some other seasons. As you both already mentioned, it's more about build up and character development. As a result, season 6 is pretty much non-stop action.
