If you two haven't watched Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation, I feel like that would be an awesome anime for you two to watch. Definitely one of the best Isekai anime's out their. But, it definitely doesn't shy away on some of the more explicit scenes. Doesn't show it for obvious reason, but wont just dance around it.

Fruits basket won’t win a poll. It’s not well known enough in America for your fanbase and it’s to overlap a lot but you will enjoy the show a lot, I think your community will enjoy it a lot, and reacting to it could even bring in new fans who are looking for more reactions to the show

Violet Evergarden would be the most beautiful show you've ever watched because it's by Kyoani which is MILES above other studios and it's so emotional. Fruits Basket deals with so many things you both talk about specially in regards to family and psychology, there's the emotional layer, and there's fantasy elements in it too, plus so many animals. I think Frieren would a good middle ground because it's still a shonen (published in Shōnen Sunday Comics shonen is a demo not a genre) but it's FANTASY so it would somewhat appease people who want more than the usual action shonen while being liked by your current very action shonen focused audience, plus is short and it could make you curious about what else is out there. Something like Mob would be good for when you finish MHA. And finally, after how much you liked robots maybe think of Evangelion at some point, the model of the jjk mechamaru was based on it and it's a general anime viewer favorite and profoundly interesting to make theories about.

Edgerunners would be fun to watch (especially since it is a shorter completed series). For personal preference, I’d love for you both to react to YYH (cause I’m an old school anime watcher), or Your Lie in April and/or Monster since I’ve never seen either, but heard they’re both amazing. I would love it if they explored the magical girl genre! Madoka is a good one, but two other magical girl anime I would add to the list, and personally recommend over Madoka, are Revolutionary Girl Utena and Princess Tutu. Utena is a classic that has been referenced in other Western media that they've reacted to before like She-ra, and Princess Tutu is a highly regard cult classic.

Honestly out of all these options I really think Montana would love Hunter x Hunter or Frieren the most! If you need a new shounen Hunter x Hunter is up your alley! With its iconic duo, Killua and Gon im sure the show would take you by surprise. It has a lot of episodes but you really do see growth! Frieren is much shorter but sweet! Slow paced and relaxing but that’s the point! It takes place much after your typical heroes journey and you learn the value of the time you have and how you spend it. Very wholesome!

I voted for Fruits Basket and Cowboy Bebop, since those are the only two anime in this list that I've seen and liked. Though, I've heard that Monster is supposed to be excellent as well and is on my To Watch list. Some other anime that I think you might really like: Buddy Daddies - This anime is short, only one cour (so no more than 13 episodes long), and is a completed narrative. It's about two hitmen who end up taking in a four year old. It has some excellent humor and some really wonderful character writing. It has a very satisfying ending as well. Tiger & Bunny - This was My Hero Academia before My Hero Academia came out, lol. The first season came out in 2011 and it's about a washed up veteran superhero. He's part of a reality TV show called HeroTV, where a select roster of superheroes are given points and ranked on how well they do their job saving people. In order to remain on the show, he gets assigned a partner - a young, up-and-coming rookie. There's a buddy cop aspect to the show, as well as a lot of homages to Western superhero ideas and tropes, just approached and shown through more of an anime lens. The show takes place in a made up city (Sternbild) that's based off of NYC, so there is a lot of diversity with the cast. It was a huge hit in Japan back in the day and has had two movies and a second season. Princess Tutu - I know you both really liked and enjoyed She-ra, which is essentially a magical girl series. Princess Tutu is an older anime (from 2002), but it is an absolute cult classic within the magical girl community. It's a very interesting and unique series that mixes magical girl conventions with Western fairytales and ballet. There is a very meta aspect to the series and it focuses a lot on literary concepts, while also having a lot of classical music that gets used throughout. None of the above anime are super popular (at least, not on the same level as a lot of the anime listed in this poll) and some are a lot older, so they'd likely never win any poll. But, I figured I'd mention them, because I think they are all shows that you both would like. :) But anyway, I do sincerely hope that you react to Fruits Basket someday, because that show would REALLY be up your alley. LOTS of wonderful character writing and so much potential for theorizing! It's an award winning shoujo classic for a reason.

It probably has the on of the best and infamous written antagonist. He fr had my heart racing every-time he was on screen. The mc is incredible too I love him so so much, hes just incredibly kind and badass. All the side characters are so good and well written too. There are so many plot twists that left me gagged. It compared a-lot to death note because theyre both so good and came out around the same time. Both are also thriller but I would say Monster is definitely scarier and more mysterious. Its the type of anime that makes you want to watch a philosophical analysis of it.

Vinland Saga and Monster are top tier, some of the best shows and stories of any anime. Frieren is also amazing, probably my favorite recent anime. HxH is one of the top 5 best shonen in my opinion, and probably has the best magic system of any anime. The magic system for JJK is heavily inspired by HxH. HxH is a huge influence for JJK in general.

I was wondering if you guys would consider Ghost in the Shell? It's probably one of the top anime from my PoV, but people rarely react to it. Some of these are a lot shorter than others. I would say out of the short ones Cyberpunk and Kaiju#8 are great and both 1 season. Frieren is a good length but not too long and I think you two would enjoy the vibes. Out of the longer ones I think HxH is probably the longest, but very wholesome and fun. Yu Yu Hakusho is also good, but not as long and made from the same creator as HxH. Monster is a great show too, it's 74 episodes and a psychological thriller of sorts. Very different to most other anime out there and it holds up even as an older series.

Vinland is definitely my favorite of anything on this list by a wide margin, but that is a bit deceptive. Season 1 and 2 follows the first 100 chapters of the manga. The manga is currently on chapter 204 and in its final arc. The anime is only halfway through the series so far.

Just finished Monster a week ago and it's outstanding. One of the best written antagonists and genuinely terrifying. I was fr holding my breath everytime he appeared. I love love love the mc too. It prob won't be chosen but I can't recommend it enough to everyone in the comments! There were so many plot twist and it's great for discussion with the philosophy of the characters.
