If you listen, there's a gear turning sound at multiple points in the fight, that was when Mahoraga adapted to any problems that he encounters. Obviously he adapted to being slashed by healing faster, he got stuck by the cables binding him to the cars and debris and adapted to be strong enough to pull it easily. And Megumi did try to summon Mahoraga against Sukuna when Yuji first died, and when Todo was beating him up, then the fight against Hanami.

A few things you guys got wrong megumi was gonna use max elephant not Mahoraga on todo and 2 after the people in the ritual die Mahoraga would despawn so if he killed the pony tail guy then he would have died before sukuna could fight him so it wasn’t like megumi was gonna kill a whole town every time he was gonna use it it would guarantee that every one in his radius of about 20 meters would die

Even if you don’t record it. This is the only episode you really need to watch in blue ray, it adds a bunch of continuity to the fight plus like a minute(at most) of scenes, which is a lot of time in a fight this fast. Sukuna is such a menace.

Thanks for answering my question!!! Since we know that both the Zenin and Gojo clan heads died in the match, and Megumi saying “I imagine the clan head used this in the same way back then”, we can assume it’s an “I’m going down anyways so i’m taking you with me” situation. Neither of them walked out of the fight in the end. But, that doesn’t mean that you HAVE to give up your life to use Mahoraga. It’s just that no sorcerer has ever been able to subjugate and thus control Mahoraga. I guess “beat” was a strong word for me to use in the question. We definitely know that Mahoraga killed the Six eyes/limitless user.

The major difference between this fight and the original in the manga (besides the obvious) is that in the original there is a lot less back and forth between them and Sukuna is in control pretty much the entire time.

Going back through this episode, you can see how Mahoraga adapts throughout the fight. • Mahoraga starts the fight by attacking with positive energy, but Sukuna isn't a cursed spirit so it eventually starts using cursed energy (Sukuna notices this at 16:36). • Whenever Sukuna starts tossing Mahoraga around, it grows in size to prevent this. • As Sukuna points out during the fight, Mahoraga adapted enough to his technique that it could perceive his slices (we the audience can also see Sukuna's slices from that point on, which is a cool detail). • When tossed in the pool, Mahoraga creates gills. There's probably more details like these in the full version of their fight.

So it's finally happened, as you've probably read by now the Mahoraga fight you saw was 33% done. Blue ray has the fully fleshed out, not dimmed masterpiece that is Sukunna vs Mahoraga. I hope you too can see that one day.

From what I understand, Sukuna only used Dismantle on Mahoraga for the majority of their fight. He fully intended to use Cleave to finish off Mahoraga via Malevolent Shrine. However, as the narrator pointed out, Mahoraga not only adapted to Dismantle but slicing in general. The surprise on Sukuna's face was him realizing this, prompting him to use the fire arrow as his backup.

Also to specify, the Gojo vs Zenin clans beef was because one Gojo member with six eyes and limitless technique battled a Zenin member with the ten shadows technique in a spectated duel. Both of them died, and the beef stemmed from that battle. Megumi later says in the episode that the Zenin member likely used the technique in the same way he did (using it as a last resort), so the Zenin member likely died first, the Gojo member was included in the subjugation and lost, so both of them died.

The intro song is actually written from Sukuna’s perspective to Itadori, he’s taunting him. So at the end of the episode where Sukuna relinquishes control in front of all the destruction to torment Itadori, the song plays in parallel.

The difference with him summoning mahoraga now compared to the other times, is he was fully out of options. He was bleeding out and too low on cursed energy to use his domain. He had no way to win against haruta unfortunatly so using his trump card was more about making sure the other party looses with him.

Or in this case, his SPECIAL. Also in world time, Sukuna only had control for about 23 minutes. And he did ALL THAT.
