Hazbin Hotel suffers so much from having so little runtime because of Amazon not giving enough of an initial chance. There's so much that SHOULD be explained, if the creators were given more time for season 1 or cut out certain plot points for future seasons. But unfortunately they only had a confirmed 1 season and rolled with it the best they could. That said, I enjoyed how quickly and succinctly they handled Vaggie and Charlie's relationship strain. Charlie hates feeling lied to, but admits her own belief system means she should forgive her. It's one of the biggest themes of the show, that a major step towards becoming a better person is to TRY. Always try, no matter how awful you think you are its never too late to be a good person. Vaggie hates herself, and it makes sense her time at the hotel was her trying to repent. I think Charlie understood that fundamentally.

For Lucifer, it's not actually stated in the show but part of the deal Lucifer made with Heaven that's brought up once or twice is that he won't interfere with the exterminations, and in exchange Heaven only purges Sinners and not Hellborn.

Again that's a valid theory and one I hold. But all we know in Canon is there is a deal that spares the hellborn and a deal that allowed the extermination. We don't know if they're the same deal but it's likely. We also don't know what was the exact wording of those deals. Could be Lucifer isn't allowed to step foot in heaven again or limited access to earth for demons. again the theory that it's for Lucifer to not fight heaven is my theory as well. But it isn't a Canon fact yet.

Episode one lute literally says her father spared her and hellborns from an exorcist blade i.e. no hellborns hurt no Lucifer stepping in, then Charlie says in dad beat dad about them having a meeting and him saying to "go ahead and kill everyone" paired with lutes line, they can kill anyone who isn't a hellborn

"A favor where you harm no one" could also just be something as simple as "Walk away" or some variant of her letting something happen that she might otherwise want to stop. It really is just a wide open door to give someone as devious as Alistor. Personally I figure there are two ways it could go, either it will be a stepping stone or a linchpin. On one hand he could use it relatively quickly and mundanely in order to further get in Charlie's good graces and secure future favors, on the other it could linger in the background for a long while and then be brought back up again to secure some key win for him. I expect the latter is more likely though I wouldn't be surprised by the former.

Also Lucifer can’t help Charlie until there is a breach in their contract with heaven which states as long as his family and hellborns are spared from extermination he will put all sinners in one place and not fight back against heaven so he can’t help her until charle or a hellborn is physically harmed by the extermination so that’s why he isn’t there helping right now

A lot of people get confused about the angles getting killed by their weapons so just to Clarify a little just like how if a sinner kills a sinner they respawn if someone tries to kill an angle they can heal their wounds we see that in this episode Cuase vaggie could heal her wings which were ripped out by lute but she can’t get her eye back because it was clawed out with the angelic spear angle weapons are able to permanently erase what is damaged by them so that’s why they are able to die to angelic weapons also a sort of heads up you need a angelic weapon to kill and angle but they can be harmed by normal means it’s just that it will end up a waste of time Cuase they can get back up eventually

We don't know what the deal entailed. It's likely it did include that. But we don't know for sure. But even without that Lucifer getting involved is complicated due to his station. We don't know the deal that allowed extermination and the deal to save hellborn is part of the same deal. It's easy to think they are and that where I think it is. But even if that's not the case it's still an issue.

At 15:57, when Vaggie said she isn't used to fighting with long hair, Carmilla lets her hair down and still manages to beat Vaggie just as easily. Carmilla is indirectly showing Vaggie's excuses are just that, and that she has the capability of fighting and winning.

Actually, he's only so far been confirmed to be asexual, not aromantic. Vivziepop has specifically not commented on Alastor's romantic orientation because she didn't want to ruin the shippers' fantasies.

I'm honestly surprised you two didn't comment on what alastor said about Charlie in the song. "Like her daddy, she is madly powerful. She's filled with potential that i could guide. Stick with her, you'll be on the winning side." Honestly, to me, this makes it sound like he doesn't actually want her to give him control or anything. He wants her to at least feel like an ally. I feel he rather intends for her to be "in charge" as far as everyone else is concerned, with him still being able to manipulate her

Just a quick FYI: Lucifer can't help her. He is bound by his contract with heaven. As long as no hellborn gets hurt (including charlie) He'll stand aside and let the extermination happen.

Lucifer is locked by the contract he made with Heaven. In order to keep hellborn demons (including his family) safe. He isn't allowed to interfere with the extermination process. For all we know Lucifer made a deal and it's just as binding as an angelic deal. Even if he wants to help her fight he can't do so until Heaven breaks their part of the deal.

Awesome reaction. Two things. Keep in mind that Lucifer made a deal with Heaven that they can attack and kill anyone they want as long as they aren't hellspawn (hell born). So the deal doesn't allow Lucifer to interfere with heaven (Lucifer is as you can imagine big on keeping his deals as he is the upper echelon of order in hell). So his daughter is safe, but everyone else at the hotel are sinners (even Vaggie "sinned" by the angels definition). You mention that if we can't wait we can see the next episode on patreon. I'm already on patreon and can't wait for next episode - where do I need to support ya all to jump one week into the future? :D

Actually! Rosie calling Alastor an "ace in the hole" is refering to the fact that Alastor is confirmed to be Asexual and Aromantic, him being confused is because he died around 1930 I think? Correct me if I'm wrong, and I doubt awerness for this subject was present at the time at all. Ace is short for Asexual

I see the second song as charlie needs to become ruler of hell so she needs meet a middle ground not hating them for their s8n like lucifer but not thinking their perfect like she did before she needs acept some of her people will remain her people and if she cares for this kingdom she has to acept them Makes me feel that long term the final season will end with her being crowned queen or something

Lucifer is a political figure. Him getting involved in the fight could be seen ( this is just my theory) as a declaration of war. Unsure whatthe princess doing it isbut there's a clear self defense clause there for her. It's also possible the deal he signed included him not fighting.
