My theory on the teacher is simply playing the laws of averages. Eventually one day Freiren will meet someone who will die and she will still have questions or something unresolved. A prediction becomes inevitable if you have infinite time. Still impressive in that shenwas able to think like that and predict what her personality will be.

I think the when frieren said she wouldn't have seen the sunrise she used it as a metaphor that the sunrise was Fern's smile.

Fun fact - The name of the Channel they're cleaning is Granz, but this is a slight mistake. In Japanese R and L are used interchangeably. Glanz means sparkling - The channel is reknowned for how pretty it looks when the Sun hits it and it sparkles - so the name was likely meant to be Glanz instead of Granz.

actually, the dwarfs name is "Eisen" which is german for iron. its pronouced without an H. Also, frierens master's name is "flamme" which is german for "flame" (the color of her hair)

Knowing Frieren was Flamme's student also starts to put in perspective some of the struggles she has with perceiving and appreciating time. It means we know she's over 1000 years old, which means when she talks about a 10 year journey she really is talking about a period that is less than 1% of her life.

Technically agnostic just means "not knowing", being the antithesis of gnostic or "knowing". In common parlance (like in the quick discussion) it is used as term for a sort of neutral ground between atheist and theist, bridging both a "I don't know" and "I don't care" stance. Strictly speaking though, agnostic is just a qualifier; many atheists for example are agnostic atheists, meaning they don't express to know but also see no sufficient reason to believe. An agnostic theist might be more along the lines of what Heiter states, that for him it's not about feeling certain in an afterlife but a feeling that it is more convenient if there is one and so he chooses to believe in it.

I’m really glad Kenny especially is enjoying this, it’s such a unique take on a lot of anime tropes he’s probably used to, from the perspective of a character archetype that’s usually a side character in most stories lol

I think some people have already mentioned this. But all the characters names are German. Not German names, but just normal German words. And typically the word reflects parts of their character. Like Frieren which means freeze, referring to her cold tone. If you wanna pronounce the names correctly this is a good thing to remember. However, be warned, if you look up the translations you might get small spoilers from inferring what the characters name means.

It's a bit clearer in the sub/in Japanese but aureole is beyond the demon castle. They are both at Ende but Aureole shoud be a bit further out/at the very edge of it I guess the party just wanted to go home after defeating the demon king and didn't go beyond the castle

It's so interesting that Frieren means cold/freezing, and Flamme of course means flame and they're student/master. Flamme goes out like a flame, as this legendary mage forever etched into human history, whereas Frieren just remains for centuries like an iceberg.

I asked the pacing question! I loved the answers you both gave and even I hadn't thought about the concept of how it pertains to Frieren's perception of how time passes. That was something I hadn't heard anywhere else too, and I really enjoy the idea of that too. I love that idea a lot.

Can't say I disagree with you there. It definitely kept me on my toes. Never knew what was gonna happen next! Some things even felt more like a jump-scare, tbh. Excluding the pacing tho, I was thinking they may enjoy the magic system/lore and characters like with Frieren.
