As someone who has read the Manga it hints that frieren is actually crazy good at figuring out how diffrent magic works and making counter spells if you keep this in mind while watching it will add more to the story

I'm with Kenny. It's great in a vacuum, but feels odd for this kind of show. The second opening, tho, is MUCH better, I agree. And the closing is perfect, obviously.

Y’all have talked about the opening a couple times. I kinda see where Kenny is coming from, but I’m firmly in the Montana camp. I love the Frieren intros. And personally I like the second opening song even more.

They didn't come out of hiding until Himmel died because they were afraid of him. Remember Frieren was the mage in Himmel's party. Frieren herself being this terrifying just goes to show that the other 3 in her party are just as terrifying. Himmel is the leader of the party so hence he is the one to fear above all else.

Humans were the ones who developed Zoltraak on their end a lot faster than demons are capable of but Frieren is the one who tweaked it to be more focused on killing demons specifically.

i can see how the op could feel out of place, but idk at frieren’s core it is a fun story. i think the op portrays the more upbeat and fun moments, which makes the emotional impact of this show all that better imo

Plenty of people didn't like the opening for this. The lyrics themselves are good and are entirely about Frieren. Its just the overall music is not the kind of tone I wanted to see with Frieren as a manga reader. The next one is a little better overall in the tone and how it works with Frieren as a series. The ending music is way better and I still wish you would react to it but for whatever reason you guys dont do that.

The background music tends to be more Lord of the Rings, the battle music is more Witcher 3 with a hint of Skyrim on occassion.

Probably because she's a Fiend rather than a full Devil, and therefore has human limitations. I haven't sent her as the Blood Devil, but I'd imagine she's more powerful then.

Beyond that, he doesn't seem drained from using blood like Power does. Still, I feel like Power's unpredictability would keep Lugner on his toes.

In Japanese there was actually a title drop this episode. While the English title of the show was changed to Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, in Japanese it was Sousou no Frieren (you hear Lugner say at the end of the episode), which would more arcuately be translated as Frieren at the funeral. But it actually has a second meaning, translated as Frieren the Slayer or Frieren who sends you to your grave, her moniker among demon kind.
