I got to say I disagree with Cecil to an extent here but for the most part agree with him. The using an 8 year old to spar is questionable but I'm assuming the kid is getting bis own training and education and stuff and sparring with invincible is a way for him to learn too. I think rehabilitating Dark Wing 2 is a fair thing. The guy lost his mentor and a person he probably met and thought was helping his mission turned out to commit the greatest terrorist act on the face of the planet. And dark wing's response to that was to murder criminals. It's wrong and shouldn't be done but as far as the ability to become a better a person and whether he should be given the chance while also being helped to deal with the trauma that led to that I think is fair. Sinclair? No. Guy should not get any amount of freedom. You can justify using his technology. I think donated corpses is a fair ethical solution. But Sinclair shows no remorse and no empathy for others. Giving a person like that the freedom to keep experimenting and stuff is dangerous. Especially right away. If they were giving him help and stuff he needed and he showed empathy for his victims and stuff I can see a road to redemption. But here he was just useful so he got a past. The implant is also another line crossed but thst one I'm more torned on. It's not unreasonable to prepare for Mark turning against Earth. But morally wrong tk implant that weapon in him. Just flat out is. But I see it as more justifiable than bringing in Sinclair.

I agree with him to an extent. I think he is terrible at dealing with Mark. He never treats him like an equal adult. He should have actually tried to persuade him, but he really isn't. He does explain his motivations and his intents but only after he was forced to. He never showed any turst in mark. He keeps thinking he can either control him or find some solution to stop him so that if Mark ever does stray from what he wants, he can put him down. It is rather arrogant. There is having contingencies and actively not willing to trust him.

Yes kinda, it’s technically the same universe, just changed the timeline if that makes sense. When future eve decided to go back in time and save mark, that created a new timeline in which mark never died. So although its 2 different timelines, it was still the same universe. It’s so complicated when it involves both time travel and the multiverse lmao

But Mark's demand ISN'T logical. If anything it's purely emotional. Mark didn't take anything Cecil said into consideration when he made that demand, because he doesn't care. In his mind, the murders they've committed will always overshadow any good they could potentially accomplish moving forward. Honestly, as messed up as it was for Cecil to have kept Darkwing and Sinclair a secret from Mark, it's proven to have been the right choice since Mark still lost his shit even after they saved him and the other heroes. I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to be upset, but going after Cecil the way he did was a bad call.

That's the reason he's a hypocrite. His family gets exceptions and he doesn't extend that to others especially killers that he hates so much. "Cough" Nolan "Cough" his father. Mark is a blatant hypocrite and I hope more characters call him out on it. Cecil and Oliver already started the trend.

I think it boils down to what you consider the differences are between universes and timelines. From what I understand, the future Guardians spent 20 years searching the multiverse for Mark, but by the time they found the universe he was trapped in he had lost his mind. So they time-traveled back to right after Mark killed Angstrom, and sent him back to their universe (the past from their perspective). So it's the same universe, but different timelines.

Sinclair is obsessed with "improving humanity". He wouldn't use anything less than a human body as the template, and Cecil wouldn't go so far as to give him live subjects, so corpses seem to be the next-best thing for both.

I get that he's been through some shit And that he knows firsthand what those guys are capable of/have done I that he should be pissed Cecil didn't let him KNOW that was the plan to use them (maybe explain how, with SERIOUS reform, what they can bring to a potential fight against viltrum...which he ALSO knows firsthand what a INSANE problem that fight WILL be) I just feel like going "I'm not leaving until you throw them both back in jail (which comes across like threatening cecil) is a logical response But that's just me, but I do understand the argument

Notice how even though Cecil led Mark to the White Room, he only entered after giving Mark another out, and being told "I'm not going anywhere until Sinclair and Darkwing are both back in prison." Mark made it clear that he wasn't there to negotiate. He had to have known that Cecil wouldn't listen to him willingly, so I honestly can't blame Cecil for going on the defensive. Sure, Cecil could've tried to de-escalate better (the Angstrom comparison was a terrible point), but it ultimately wouldn't have mattered since Mark was never going to listen.

Hard disagree. It's not even a question of morality to me, but a question of resource usage. Sinclair probably hasn't changed unless Cecil has fully brainwashed him (which is its own can of ethical worms), but kept under close supervision having him create the Reanimen in an ethical way when they're a) physically capable of giving a Viltrumite a run for their money and b) a useful backup in case of superhero emergency as we literally see in this episode just makes sense.

Everyone else didn’t change their minds. Mark is just the only one who actually knows what these people have done. Mark was the only hero involved in both Sinclair’s and darkwing’s arrests and the only hero who saw what they did. The others aren’t upset cause all they know is darkwing and these robots saved them.

I mean, Cecil makes it clear that Sinclair is a prisoner. While it feels icky that a guy like him basically gets to do what he wants, it's for an undeniably important cause: the safety of the planet. Classic "methods vs. results" debate, and Mark is being pretty small-minded about it.

For me it depends on how Sinclair is living in season 1 we saw he makes the reaniman then goes back to his cell for me I would be more open minded if we see his rehabilitation of him learning it understand the value of a human life and see that they aren’t treating him like a normal worker for dark wing I understand what he went through and can see how he could recover and it is true that without both of them they would all be dead and for Sinclair season 1 could have been different

I personally think they're more automatons than people, closer to robots so they're not conscious anymore, but even if I am wrong and they retain some degree of consciousness, as long as the soldiers were informed and gave consent, I think the emergency situation kind of calls for their use. People have consigned themselves to worse fates to protect their homelands, and that's just nations and countries, arbitrary lines on maps, this is the entire planet, the entirety of humanity we're talking about. When the viltrumites come, you want to have as much stuff as possible to throw at them. In times of crisis morality is often a luxury that people cannot afford. At the end of the day, would you rather be the guy that respected corpses of fallen soldiers but lost, dooming humanity to death or servitude, or the guy that made use of the fallen and won, allowing humanity live? I asked Kenny and Montana a similar question for Frieren, about how much they'd be willing to sacrifice in a life or death fight to keep the bodies of the fallen intact?

Honestly I don't think the reanimen are as F'd up as you think. If they're really just donated bodies of soldiers, and we're currently awaiting an invasion from the strongest military force in the universe, I think the situation calls for using them. If I compare it to a necromancer reanimating dead bodies to help in a fight for the survival of humanity, I kinda think they're 100% right to do it.
