Also...I'm confused as to how powerplex's abilities work. Does the absorption bit cancel out damage? Because I feel like a sledgehammer to the face, or being crushed by a huge pile of debris would have still at least harmed him. Am I missing something? 🤣

In case you forgot, the caped Invincible variant in yellow and black is the same one who killed AJ, the son of an Angstrom variant. The Invincible variant who's wearing what looks like a tracksuit killed another Angstrom variant's sibling/friend/significant other. Both were shown in S2's finale when Angstrom was sorting through his combined memories.

To add onto your point, it's more than likely that Scott blamed himself for not being there to help them (which he couldn't, but someone with survivor's guilt isn't going to think that way). That thinking slowly devolved as he tried to make sense of everything. 1. "If I was there, I could've done something to save them. They're dead because of me." 2. "Invincible was there, he could've saved them. Why didn't he?" 3. "Invincible didn't save them because he doesn't care about collateral. They're dead because of HIM."

I stopped feeling bad for him the moment he decided to hold Debbie and Oliver hostage. Everything he said to Debbie whenever they were alone made it clear that he slowly regained enough sanity to recognize that Mark and Debbie weren't like their variants, but that didn't stop him from continuing to hurt them. Angstrom is a lot like Scott in that way. They both couldn't process their losses (perceived or otherwise) in a healthy way and needed someone to blame.

I think All Might gets a pass, at least for his fight with AFO, because it was pretty clear what the situation was (long-time great hero fighting a guy who's clearly evil). Mark had only been a hero for less than a year when he fought Nolan, so it makes sense that he wouldn't have the public trust and reputation to give him that pass, at least for some people like Scott.

can’t believe mark threw jessi- i mean aaro- i mean scotts wife and kid into a volcano and then brought them back in a split second to gaslight him into believing he killed his wife and kid, shows the kind of “hero” invincible is, he can’t keep getting away with this

eve isn’t nerfed due to budget (she uses her powers the same way in the comics so that wouldn’t even make sense), the two possibilities is either that the writers don’t fully understand how powerful being able to manipulate matter is OR they purposely nerf her because she could end practically any battle within an instant if she utilizes her ability right

Now to be fair I’d probably blame invincible for my wife and kid if I was powerplex, simply cause I couldn’t deal with the mental stress of knowing that I fried my family. I’d have to just cope and say it was his fault, whether it’s true or not

When it comes to eve's powers, and why they might seem so limited in this episode, I think it's simply because of budget. From what I heard amazon isn't doing a good job of funding Invincible so the animators try to save it for very very important things.

The thing I find most interesting about Scott is his line about "why do you get to live when so many died" because he *only* survived the building collapse that killed his sister and niece by random chance, the fact that he just happened to be out getting coffee. It reframes all of his actions not just as him being irrationally angry at Invincible, but rather that *everything* is him projecting his survivor's guilt onto hating Invincible because it's the only thing that keeps him from hating himself.

That's just it. He wasn't focused on collateral damage. He seemed to think Invincible was purposefully doing it kr something. Tracking the rationale of someone not being rational is hard but ultimately he needed someone ot blame and was doing it in a very u healthy way.

I think the DA is completely wrong trying to paint it as a the laws don't apply to invincible in that situation. I thibk thats fair is other instances but everything Mark did there was to fight Omniman and no investigation will go far enough to have a trial. I do feel for the guy as that I can't imagine my response but it's fair to say her words only helped give him a false narritive of the situation

If this was MHA, mark would've been charged guaranteed. Also deku would've taken Powerplex outside of the building to prevent the wife and child from dying. No question. Yes, Almight wasn't prosecuted for his fight with AFO. The only reason i can think of is that the Author didn't bother to write that senerio despite public distaste of heroes being presented in the same fight and more so as the series progressed. Also, it seemed that Almight got a pass simply because he's Almight. At best for punishment, if invincible was a MHA hero, he would've possibly gotten his hero license suspended, seeing as Heroes in MHA have to follow the laws put in place as well which was implied in the show. This includes public shaming from the citizens. It's really a missed opportunity to show the public outrage towards invincible even knowing that 3 thousand people signed a petition to have invincible investigated. It's even crazier to know that heroes in Invincible are above the law because there are no laws for situations like Mark vs Nolan's fight.
