This was my first time hearing this episode dubbed I was not prepared for the mom to sound like that but she's by far one of my favorite VAs (Fairy Tail was my gateway to anime)

His family is the cornerstone that connects him with his humanity. Wanting to have such a big part of him a big more fleshed out is reasonable. It was an emotional scene and you can have sympathy with him but I think it needed a bit more to connect to me in a more emotional way. Rn for me I'm glad his mom is back and they're a happy family again but it feels more like a check on a to do list. The way we are immediately moving on to s ranks sparring was also a buf jarring. I wish the scene where they clean up the apartment and trying to get back to normal life and how jinwoo can't do that anymore bc he changed so much would have been longer. I wish we could have gotten the moms and sisters perspective a bit more. Similar to Dandandans 7th episode or jjk s2 5th ep, i wouldn't have minded if we gave the whole episode to his family and emotional state. And maybe have a conflict between wanting to spend time with his mom now that she's back and the world needing him for s rank stuff. Or like more of an indication that he still carries that with him. It's a bit too one and done for me.

To the idea that there might be some consequences to the Elixir of Life, considering how hard Jinwoo worked and how much blood, sweat, and tears he dropped to get this for his mom, I think it being some kind of scam would be really stupid, writing-wise. This ain't JJK; you don't need to punish your main character just cause you can.

I can't believe people got upset with this episode just because Sung wasn't aura farming and was crying in this episode, I loved this episode cause it gave him a human touch instead of the typical overpowered MC. Also Him getting 6 elixer's of life kinda makes me think he's gonna fight beings that will make him use it, or his gonna get in a situation where he has to give it to another person.

His relationship with his mother could have been set up better. The payoff, him reuniting with his mother felt a bit flat in my opinion. Before this episode we barely get a feel on who his mother is, we mostly only ever see her in the coma. A couple more flashbacks here and there in the previouses episodes with his mother, maybe in context with his sister would make it feel more cathartic. Even though he's been working towards this goal the entire time, the reuniting feels kind of sudden. I think the emotional weight would have been felt more if he we would have witnessed his family more or if thee progress of his leveling would have been directly linked to his goals. In the first seasons in the throne room where he exclaims "I have a family too" That was really impactful for example. If he would have similar moments of "I'm not going to die here bc of my family" or "I'm closer to my mother now bc of this" having him feel "relieved" or "hopeful" Maybe each time he hit a new milestone not just bc he was getting stronger but bc he wanted it for his mother. When he goes to dungeons as a miner, everyone asks themselves why he would do that, that would have been a good moment to remind everyone that he does this for his mother. In the episode the joy he had running to the boss chamber felt more like bloodlust or him wanting to test his powers, etc. Him visiting her in the hospital and actually meaningfully interacting with her would have been good too. Talking about the burden of raising his sister, how he maybe misses her homecooking, that he finally feels like he can do something, or maybe him noticing that she's getting older, her muscles are getting weaker or something to give us a sense of urgency, bc rn it felt like it wouldn't matter if she stayed in the coma a couple years more. It is a good episode but the emotional payoff could have been set up better in my opinion.

The time difference between gates and the the outside world is only for Red Gates, since it cuts everything off outside. Small fun fact that was cut out, but the translator and guild master for the knights guild, both of whom are a ranks, sparred against each other with the rules being the winner is whoever grabs the others wrist. The guild master won that and lectured her about how underestimating others could be fatal, and how in Korea they have to sometimes fight other hunters
