New Show Poll: After Solo Leveling
🕑 Added 2025-04-08 21:36:51 +0000 UTCEnjoy! Decided to throw in Vigilantes as its literally in the MHA world, and also Xmen 97 because we want to give Western shows a shot at this Thursday slot as well!
Keep in mind, we also are getting close to the end of Frieren, so the show that comes in 2nd place has a strong possibility to take that slot!

Its losing in the polls but I'm still holding out hope for X-Men 97. I dont have access to watch it myself and I am not about to pirate it. So even if im not supporting the actual creators, only watching via Letts I think itd still be fun. I grew up with the original version(and Spider-Man) and Ive heard nothing but good things of the new version.

I’d really like to see your reactions to Re:Zero. Maybe on a future poll? It’s really good both story-wise, and voice acting for both sub and dub. Animation is also really good. Sorry to say that Chris Sabat isn’t in it, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

Something that might be worth trying at some point (assuming you have the time and energy) is taking a handful of shows and just watching the first episodes for Patreon. At least in my opinion there are a decent number of more niche or unique shows you (and others here) might find interesting if they got a chance, but which struggle to compete with the name recognition of the big seasonal "blockbuster" shonen series. Not that I begrudge you for just relying on polls like this, it makes sense for your job here and I typically enjoy the popular shows as much as the next person. And these are all good shows. But straight popularity polls will always favor a specific type of show (Frieren being a notably exception that managed to subvert the trend).

I have a suggestion, that might be more of a Patreon only show since its not that big, but its a show called RWBY, that was produced by Rooster Teeth. The show was created by a man named Monty Oum (Rest in Peace), who from what I hear is known as legend when it comes to 3D fight choreography.

I would love that! I feel that would open up their possibility for different anime series outside of action heavy stuff, which isn't my personal cup of tea, or open up room for exploring alternative and more female aimed action series like mahou shoujo / magical girl stuff.

Vinland Saga is one of my favorites. I haven’t watched Mon Psycho yet but it’s on my list and I’ll get to it soon. Before anyone replies with “season 2 sucked though.” Just because the tone and focus of the plot shifted, doesn’t mean it’s bad. Vinland Saga is an amazing show, including season 2. I don’t want to say more in case of spoilers.

Basically Sentai dub has greater Authenticity while the netflix has a better performance. Depends on what you want from a historical norse drama anime. For me both are great. Though its obvious they'll choose netflix because its fucking Netflix! Nobody cares for sentai filmworks. Though it would be fun to switch it around.

It’s still MHA related. I know it’s a different show but still. I’m not the only person who felt this way and I can voice my opinion and feelings. All I said is that slot could’ve gone to another anime of a different genre. Just a suggestion. If it wins it wins. If it doesn’t it doesn’t. My comment was fine. This whole comment section is literally filled with other anime suggestions and I just added in my suggestions as well. That’s all. It was never deep in the first place don’t try to make it seem like I took it that way.

I understand why some people dislike the second season, because they got used to the pacing of the first season, but in terms of plot and world/character development the second season was better. It went from being a shonen to a seinen in my eyes.

Hey Kenny, I’m not sure what platform you use for anime reactions, but Netflix and Crunchyroll have different dubs for Vinland saga. I’ve only ever seen the crunchyroll version, which seems to be more popular and uses actors you’d know like Alecks le and Patrick seitz.

I feel like the MHA vigilante could’ve been another anime selection. You guys just finished MHA in January and plus season 8 will come out later this year which you guys will react to. There are other anime’s that people wanna see. Especially since you guys typically stay in the Shonen genre of anime. We could use different kind of anime from different genres. Even if MHA vigilante doesn’t win I think something else could’ve been used for that slot regardless of whatever wins this poll. Not complaining just saying I feel like we should branch out a bit more. Not including western shows of course.

Vinland Saga is super interesting as an anime. The first season is incredible, and some people have mixed reactions about Season 2 because of how DIFFERENT it feels from the first, but both are very good. The show in general is super cool and I think you'd both really enjoy the intellectual side of the message it leaves behind.

I'll go for mob psycho in the poll cuz it's probably the best here, but I do want to throw out my requisite dream option: Link Click. Time travel detectives with a ton of heart and great character dynamics. Also some of the best fight choreography I've ever seen that rivals the practicality and realism of Naruto and JJK's best.
