I wouldnt mind watching them do every intro, without context theyre not spoilery at all
Soup in Boots
Y'all should react to the intros they did for Critical Role's campaign 1. They're pretty short, though, so it may not be enough content to justify a video.

Vox Machina's intro does have that kinda vibe. Another example of a modern cartoon emulating that is Netflix's She-Ra, though that series has it's own predecessor to draw inspiration from.

I mentioned in another comment, but there is a short comic detailing Ripley's time working for the Briarwoods. Both the unfinished pepperbox and her missing arm are explained there.
AuroraZero_
Someone i think mentioned this already but ya Matt never plans to kill someone, but he doesn't hold back. And ya they are all aware that death can happen at any moment! But that also means survival is also always there too!
Lucky
So the reason Ripley has the unfinished pepper box is never actually said in the show. Bit is explained in the campaign. Basically when vox machina met percy he was in prison for attempted murder. The attempted murder happened to be Dr Ripley when she was in another city. The guards of that city stopped him and she ran away back to Whitestone having now seen his weapon and is trying to replicate it

I am aging myself with this comment, but the intro to TLOVM reminds me of the intro to the classic Thundercats cartoon. Granted, the Thundercats intro was much more hyper-kinetic, but the vibe is the same and the characters each get their moments in both intros.

ahh i am a bear totem in my game so I conflated the two
HBelmont 24
I feel like it's 60% vampire charm, 15% Stockholm Syndrome, and 15% resentment. The charm probably amplified the other two.
David Bodor
Btw, not all damage is halved by Rage, unless you are that one specific subclass (Bear Totem) that gets to halve everything, which Grog is not. It is only basic physical stuff, slashing, piercing, bludgeoning damage.
David Bodor
Btw Montana is 100% correct about Cass. She had a mix of Stockholm syndrome, resentment for Percy running away and vampiric mind control going as confirmed by Matt Mercer himself.
David Bodor
Ripley is an interesting character, but an absolute monster for what she did with torturing Percy and Cass not to mention killing a bunch of the other family members too.

Also, cmon Keyleth. Have a heart, lol.
HBelmont 24
Keyleth: "Oh, and abandon the revolution we caused?" Funny enough, that's kinda how my first DnD session went. I joined the party when they were opposing the corporation exploiting the town I set up in. I left after the initial encounter with the boss's goons. Only difference is that our revolution . . . didn't end well. 😬
HBelmont 24
That's what I've been saying.

Kenny you need to listen to the outros most of the time they're different scanlan songs
HBelmont 24
It's more Ripley's standing that's neutral. Messed up as it is, she doesn't have animosity towards the de Rolos. This is just business to her, a means to an end.
Swanzy
Oooh definitely the 1- 11 & 12 double drop would be grand! 😬
HBelmont 24
Plus, I hear animating animals as opposed to people is challenging.
Sheay
I don't think I could ever consider torturing children to be a neutral activity to partake in. That's just me though.
Suplee215
Matt Mercer doesnt dm that way with unavoidable deaths baked in. He always gives a possibility even if hes expecting a character to die. Death is always a possibility and so is survival.
HBelmont 24
It's called Marie Antoinette syndrome, apparently.

We did in fact leave Trinket at home. As has been mentioned, CR was a Pathfinder game before they started streaming and switched to 5e. Animal companions in Pathfinder 1e were extremely good, in 5e they aren't. Early on Laura didn't want to risk Trinket dying because he was a CR 1/4 creature, so she frequently left him at home.
Swanzy
Percy and Cassandra's hair change to white was due to the immense trauma and stress of the torture they went through in the flashback and with everything else that happened to them in the past.
Suplee215
Fun fact thats very subtle. Ripley lost her arm because of the gun. In her experiment to make the weapon she caused the injury to herself. Never outright said but thats what was meant by "mixing science and magic"
HBelmont 24
I'm not sure which pair of episodes would be better suited for a double drop: 1x11-1x12 or 1x12-2x1. Either way, I hope we get one. 🙏
HBelmont 24
There's actually a short comic detailing Ripley's story with the Briarwoods. It's called the Whitestone Chronicles (vol. one), and it fills in quite a few blanks. Not a bad read.
