Ngl Gon coming out to talk instead of fighting is the smartest thing he's ever done

Seen this anime so many times but it has only dawned on me that the title "Beloved and Beleaguered" doesn't only apply to Gon, Killua and Kurapika but actually more importantly to Squala. RIP.

They have audio visual processing issues, only time ive seen them turn on the subtitles was when in demon slayer it didnt translate the names that popped up on screen

You joked about the Troupe sensing Kurapika's hostility from very far away but it's been a very real and integral part of the "power system" in this show. Perception of people around you and their intentions is pretty integral to this show's approach to battles and interactions in general.

You're probably right that this is a mistranslation on the dubs part, but honestly they are close enough and I feel like the point is made either way. Honestly if you think about it, the dub actually seems more ambiguous to weather he doesn't understand his own motives I'm not sure about you, but this actually fits his character well

ah yes, the "shell" the ever present thing in HxH, truely, the end goal of all end goals actually i joke in all honesty nothing wrong with mishearing something once it IS weirdly said, plus you both have one ear bud in as well so you wouldnt hear it perfectly cause you also need to hear each other, but this is kinda why subtitles even with dub isnt a bad idea (you just gotta make sure its the dub subitles and not the subed, sometimes they mix them and its weird) is there any reason you usually dont use them?

If/when you do start season two, make sure not to miss the bonus episode Hoshina's Day Off, which I believe takes place before the events at the end of the first season. It's a lighter episode, but still worth watching.

This episode especially gives me death note vibes. Togashi is such a goated writer

"What does the leader look like?" "He's the one that's very plainly an anime supervillain, you literally cannot miss him."

Yea they always forget he's an assassin who's been taught to think everything out before acting while Kurapika and especially Gon act first and think later

also when it comes to archs, donât see the ending as the ending. so when you say âmelody is whatâs making kurpika not typical ,â that still can be true. his journey, his hatred & his quest with the phantom troupe wonât end after this arch. this is just the prerequisite to something bigger

Good news: Kaiju No. 8 season two is out now and IS a simuldub, so you won't have to wait for the dub to come out to start reacting! Any chance it might become it's own slot as it airs, like you did with Demon Slayer season four and Solo Leveling season two?

killua crashout is so relatable. Theyre all so stubborn, no teamplay/communiacation

IMPORTANT NOTE (No Spoiler) I think they did a bad job with Chrollos dub in the Szene where he explains or rather TRIES to explain their motives. Because in the original he clearly doesn't quite know why and that is clear in the sub but not dub. Gon ask him why he would kill people who have nothing to do with him. Chrollo in the dub says "Perhaps because they have nothing to do with us? no on second thought it's not that simple" Which is correct but then he says in the dub: "My motives are unimportant right now, I don't like speaking of them" Which is quite wrong because in the sub he says: "How to verbally express our motives? I'm not fond if it" He clearly doesn't know really why but there is more to it He goes on and says at the end: "The reasons is the key to understanding myself" which is a clear statement but in the sub he clearly asks a question to himself saying: "Is this the key to understanding myself?' It's a question to himself. This indicates that he is lost in their ways. Which is a reality. Often people who go down a dark path have lost themselves and don't really know how that happened
