People saying Ging is a great dad is insane like, he literally ghosted his kid and has sent him on a wild goose chase but ONLY if Gon became a Hunter, like I'm sure Ging also knew getting a spot to play greed island would be hella difficult and he's just set all these hardass tasks because he doesn't want to meet Gon, but if he HAD to meet him, only if he risks his life over and over and survives

On the friendship question...if you HAD to put a "who's luckier?" I'd agree it was killua. Kid was depressed because he had NO friends, and was told the notion was not just unnecessary...but a bad thing by his family. Gon pretty much completely shifted the playing field for him! Gon, on the other hand, has a naruto-esque ability to make friends because he's such a bright presence! But...he DEFINITELY needed someone level headed like killua to help him when he can be insanely reckless. So overall, they both truly compliment each other so well, and their friendship is honestly among the biggest highlights of this show (for me anyway) because it's just so damn heartwarming! (And i can't wait to see yall watch it grow!)

The thing is, I'm pretty suree the original translation is "It would be so fun to mess with them" which carries a bit of a differnet connotation.

That makes sense. I can see how from a certain angle it might seem like they are basically just talking themselves into killing people, and then blaming the game for "forcing" them to kill people.

I love Gon‘s commentary about the game. The others blamed the game for the killing/hunting part but you can’t even harm with in-game mechanics (spells). You don’t even gain anything directly if another player dies (his items) but the players still found benefits to kill other players. And I love how Killua can challenge gons (naive/optimistic) views (even if they are kinda on the same side) . It happened with kurapica a few episodes ago as Gon stated kurapicas power was not designed for revenge and now here again.

I think Killua needs Gon for his mental wellbeing and Gon needs Killua to keep him safe and logical. Gon does what he wants and it pretty much always reckless. Gon also has gotten so much farther in his goal becuse Killua is so smart
