I like doing group stealth checks when the group is really trying to be sneaky. Which means everyone rolls and if there's more passes than fails they succeed. Explaining it in rp as this person who rolled higher than you saw you were gonna make a noise and corrected you before you did. Oh and nat 20s count as 2 successes and nat 1s count as 2 failures.

I think this was the first episode to NOT feature the entirety of Vox Machina. In previous episodes, even if the party was separated (mainly Pike), we'd still get a scene or two showing what they're up to. But it was ONLY Grog, Like, and Scanlan this episode.

34:44 - So a lot of people miss this but Kevdak says "I should have known you were not ready to raid with us" which implies Grog was not raiding with them prior to this point. This may have been his first raid or one of his first raids anyways. Prior to Willhand he fought archers that shot at him so you know those guys were fighting back so he thought it was fair play, but when he sees Willhand he tells Zanror that "He's not a fighter, he's just an old fella". There's no challenge in him fighting Willhand, he clearly doesn't draw joy from just random murder, he probably just enjoys a fight. Unlike Kevdak who Zanror says "Enjoys killing the geezers, says he's doing em a favor" So yeah he probably was not met with an old person with a family, plus how friggin cute is Pike in that little locket, omg she's so precious!

Just to point out, that wasn't Pike's mom. That was Pike. Her hair turned white at a point in the story. You can see more of her with black hair in the prologue VM comics.

10:30 - Polymorph - It's a 4th level spell bard/wizard/sorcerer and I think even some clerics can take it. The main differences from wildshape is that: 1 - You don't keep your mental stats with polymorph. Meaning you will be really dumb if you turn into dumb animals, this was not really represented in the show for convenience. 2 - You can cast this on other people, not just yourself. Meaning you could turn someone into an animal for a bit, even an enemy though they would roll for that. Just like wildshape if you hit 0 hp you revert back to your OG hit points, so you can't like turn someone else into a bug and kill them.

Loving the Vinland Saga parallels with Grog. He's basically if Thorfinn has decided to stay with that mother and daughter towards to beginning of season one. 😔
