First I'd ask why the hell he gave it a 7/10 because the show is a pretty solid 9/10 and sets the bar pretty high for any anime you'd watch after- if it was your first anime anyways.

He should give you a magic item for that tbh

See, that is actually one of my gripes with the show. I am all for a show where re-watching it gives you a ton of cool little details, but AoT I think is like too far gone, where the plot and world building feel disconnected and it feels like they don't really explain things very well throughout the episodes so you kinda have to go back to actually comprehend what they're trying to do, and some things just come out of nowhere, and meanwhile they waste time on things that they really didn't need to waste time on. I think this is a field where Frieren kinda sets the bar much higher. You get a perfectly understandable plot and story, but there's tons of little things you can pick up on when you rewatch it. It's a great balance there. AoT is way outta balance. Even the notoriously fast paced Lord of the Mysteries did a better job than AoT in my opinion. People say it's confusing and you have to lock in to understand it, but really, they struck a decent balance between letting the viewer figure things out, and eventually revealing things in a straightforward way. While it definitely does not hold anybody's hands, if you're paying attention everything is shown at the right time and there's no BS pulls out of nowhere. Obviously, it's a mystery show, so you're not meant to get everything at the start, but it does a great job at presenting to the audience exactly what they mean to, and showing a focused, crisp storyline.

I'd give benefit of the doubt (I know I tend to rate violent things lower than they deserve because I don't personally like graphic shows, maybe he's the same), but personally I'd rate it at LEAST 8.5

Like as a whole id give it an 8/10. season 3 part 1, parts of season 1, and how long the specials took lowered it for me

thats a reasonable score

I'd say it's a 8.5 or 9

I agree, 7/10 is outrageously high.

I bumped my rating of AOT by a lot after my first rewatch the amount of foreshadowing in just the first season makes to realize just how much planning must have gone into the series as a whole. I wouldnt give the series a 10/10 but 7 feels too low IMO.

My kind of guy. I found AoT deeply mediocre. I didn't really get the hype. PS - Banger of an opening in S1 tho.

The only real flaw of AOT is you kinda have to be a masochist to rewatch it. This channel is literally the only reason I rewatched it from the beginning. 9.8/10
