My favorite distinction between heroes and villains is that a hero usually uses pain as a driving factor in order to keep people from suffering the same pain, while a villain inflicts their pain on others. Percy was on the path of revenge which can be seen as justice but it almost made him into a villain. Ripley may have had altruistic motives which can garner sympathy, but in the end she chose to inflict pain on innocents, making her a true villain. We can always understand and relate with a villains motives, while still condemning their actions. Matt is really good with creating villains that we can connect to while simultaneously hating their actions lol

Percy worried he hasn't changed from his single minded pursuit of revenge. Yet now we see he did change, cause if he hadn't he would still be alive.

I love Matthew Mercer singing at the end, he has a really neat voice, I like that he sand more this season. I think half the CR cast has a song in the show already.

This episode is always a gut-punch. For one thing, bye plot armor. It is a well-done death. Percy's subplot is complete. He's come full circle. For another, this season of TLOVM came out around the same time as Arcane and it's hard not to compare the two shows -- especially after this episode. The use of lighting when Percy said "I'm in love with you" to Vex was subtle but laden with meaning. For a second, Vex was illuminated by the dawn. But she chose to step back in the shadow. All of that felt somewhat uneasy, but it gains in significance in retrospect by the episode's end. Lastly, we are getting close to my favorite episode of all three seasons of TLOVM, and I can't wait to see the reaction.

I actually went to my first Ren Faire around a week ago; just stumbled on it thinking it was something for Halloween. Had a fun time. Got some costume pieces over my regular clothes, but I'm gonna make more of an effort to dress up next year. 🗡️😁

In the campaign she was the same class as Percy, Fighter with the same Gunslinger subclass that Matt Mercer created for Percy. She used action surge and grit points just like Percy did.
