I agree with Kenny that Gon has been the same for the most part but the only thing that changed this time around is that the opposition has actually hurt someone he cares deeply about so he’s just more of a crash out (not like it’s changed that much). I would say rn he’s in the same mindset as Kurapika but Obviously gon is still gon so it makes sense why he’s still very straight forward no matter his mood.

Killua removing his needle made him stop hesitating. Hes always been very smart and quick thinking but he always hesitated making him slow. In the last episode he would've seconded guessed facing that many ants at once despite being much stronger. In this episode he probably would've prioritized finding a way to escape over trying to find a way to beat them, though he is only here because he followed Ikalgo into the trap which he never wouldve done before. Its so cool that he changed so much but he is also still the same, it makes sense that he is this strong its not some random power up.
