“Does this Gardar truly have this much worth to live… more than five of my men” Snake believes he’s justified in killing Gardar because Gardar has taken the lives of his men. Do you think Snake’s anger is truly justified?

While Snake is fighting Thorfinn, he makes a comment that he's a warrior Miklagard. A warrior of Miklagard is a royal guard for the Byzantine Emperors. They're are known to be fierce, disciplined, and most of all loyal. What do you make of this and why would Snake be here of all places. Also Thorfinn fought a former royal guard bare handed, wouldn't you say that's epic.
