Dam the blatant racism lol jk jk, but just cus a species has tusks doesn't mean theyre orcs. DnD is pretty stereotypical when it comes to species though; orcs being green, hobgoblins being red, and bugbears usually brown fur. Critical Role usually subverts those expectations and breaks the norms for PC/npcs

Caleb speaks Zemnian, a language in the world of Exandria that Liam based off of German because he learned some german growing up. its like 70-90% german with some grammatical changes and word choice

This will be my first time watching The Mighty Nine! I didn't like vox machina, I really tried and watched season 1 but I just found the comedy corny and just didn't like the characters that much. The plot wasnt bad and I really loved the voice acting tho so I have hope for MN.

Though I'd recommend looking at some of the shots on your own unobstructed because the background art is so dang pretty in this show! The cityscapes especially are stunning

That's what the spell components are in DnD, bat guano and phosphorus for certain fire spells. I learned from Dr. Stone (lol) that guano is a huge source of natural nitrogen and as such historically was farmed for gunpowder production

I’d totally love that as a story, but I could see a starting point for a character like a goblin being self hate, and then the arc being self acceptance! Just my first thought of a tragic character haha

I’d rather they have a story of either finding acceptance within their own community, or get recognition as they are from the society at large.

Oml so excited for this series I love the Mighty Nein, its my favourite campaign so far haha Also the dnd names being a one off joke and it sticks is so accurate...almost every campaign ive ran or played in I made some stupid joke when they were first thinking of a team name and its stuck...I need to keep my mouth shut lol

This show is different than the campaign. Unlike Vox Machina, which followed the campaign exactly, they went with a different approach.

Good thing to remember is mighty nein is about 20-25 years after vox machina so same world still, but someone fact check me.

I love how much Marisha obviously loves Avatar and incorporates that into her DnD. In the first campaign Keyleth's journey mirrored that of Aang 's, and in the second, Beau is basically Korra with no filter. 😂

Not really a spoiler if you've seen season 3 of Vox Machina: It's revealed in this episode that Trent Ikithon is a part of the Cerberus Assembly of Mages. These are the mages that attacked Anna Ripley's village in her back story in season the of VM. If you watch closely in that episode, you briefly see Trent Ikithon.

The guy in the classroom is the same species, but a different person then the married guy from the beginning; his fur is darker than the first guy's was, that guy was beige and the classroom guy has black fur.

Party Members met so far: - Caleb Widogast (He/Him) Level 1 Human Wizard (School of Transmutation), voiced by Liam (Vax) - Nott the Brave (She/Her) Level 1 Goblin Rogue, voiced by Sam (Scanlan) - Beauregard Lionett (She/Her) Level 1 Human Monk (Way of the Cobalt Soul, Homebrew), voiced by Marisha (Keyleth) - Yasha (She/Her) Level ? ??? Barbarian, voiced by Ashley (Pike) The campaign technically started at Level 2, as each member had an unstreamed session 0 with Matt at Level 1. This episode's events (Beau starting her investigation, Nott and Caleb meeting) was all pre-Stream, so they're Lvl 1 here. IMPORTANT: Time passes without much comment in the show. It takes days or even weeks to get between locations. So Caleb and Nott will have known each other for a while compared to the other party members by the time they gather.

Ngl, I was kinda hoping Slade and Sandy would be replaced with some of Kenny's other characters, since this show is for CR's second campaign (unless there aren't any haha).
