I don't think I'll ever understand why people are shocked by Gon's reaction to Kite. Gon is a kid who forms attachments very quickly, and has consistently been willing to put his life on the line for people who were way less important to him than Kite. Kite's not just a mentor he has a very close relationship with Ging, a person whom Gon's emotions towards are complicated at best. He's also all but said how much of his anger is self directed and him not knowing how to process that. Idk, it feels like we've been watching different stories whenever I hear someone surprised by Gon's reaction.

Watching 116 in Japanese was an experience. Mainly because of pure raw emotion. I'm 30 years old and I haven't found another show that delivered like this one. It's not even my favourite show 😆 Just best episode for a VA I've experienced

Idk if anyone has said this to you before but in the manga kite was introduced in the first chapter and he was a big part of gons "origin" storry and the reason gon found out his dad was a hunter, thats why he decides to become a hunter, so in the manga kite was much more important and not just a mentor he knew for 1 week
