Written/Directed by Derrick Acosta, Rocco Botte, Shawn Chatfield
The musical episode! When Falz gives Poque a financial ultimatum, it's time for desperation, time for action, time for... auditions? Get ready to sing your heart out for MEGA64!
PRODUCTION NOTES:
-All songs were written by the Mega64 guys with Josh Jones. They stayed in town with Josh for a weekend and worked out every piece.
-The Horatio's Acting Troupe shirts (HAT) ended up being an accidental hit sales item. When extra supply was brought to PAX, people thought the joke was simply that they listed the wrong article of clothing on them and they sold gangbusters. It was one of their best selling items in 2010 (next to the Version 3 DVD!).
-For Shawn's capture scene, everyone carefully studied, shot for shot, a scene from "Misery," uploaded to YouTube under the title "Paul Sheldon PWNED!!"
-Elite Beat Agents became one of Mega64's most beloved skits- featured on the front page of Digg (remember that?). To this day, it is considered by Rocco to be one of the most time consuming videos to edit.
-"My Name's Horatio..." was added to Rock Band 3 in 2011 (You can watch the trailer for it here). It was only made available on Xbox 360, and because the crew primarily played on PS3, nobody in Mega64 ever got to play the song themselves.
-The theater for the stage competition was originally going to be shot in the original high school that everyone in Mega64 originally met in. However, the staff got cold feet once they learned what it was. It was shot in a nearby college instead.
-The man crying at the end is Rocco's uncle. He's still very hurt.
NEXT TIME: A missing chapter is told at last. Prepare for full disclosure on PROJECT WHOOSH.

Yeah my post was about the description of this post, where he brings up that people bought tons of the HAT shirt without knowing the context. I think I phrased it weirdly. I miss the huge variety of colours they got them printed on, they should bring it back
Badalight
They did sell the Hat shirts in the past.

Shawn absolutely annihilated it this episode. Had me wheezing even. Everything about the editing of the grind montage had me in stitches - from the sound effects to the increasingly more ridiculous and abstract things he was grinding on. Then the misery scene after? *chefs kiss*

You guys forgot the most important piece of trivia! This episode spawned the origin of "Is She Nice?"

You guys have rarely been huge sellouts, but you should totally lean into the "wrong article of clothing" thing and sell the huge range of HAT shirt colours, but also sell a range of SHIRT branded hats. Both randomized, of course. I'd give some in-universe acronym breakdown for what SHIRT could stand for (SHawn something?), but then I'd be no better than the Mega64umites from the last episode.
