One bit that did get overlooked: when they're talking about Brendan getting wacked, they talk about it in Godfather terms (Pussy specifically referring to Moe Greene's death "in One" - they don't even need to use the full title, just the number.) There's a quiet running gag throughout the series about how mob media has directly influenced these guys' self-image.

This show is so cozy, I can't get enough!

So glad you noted Livia's reaction to the macaroons, that little moment is like the key to understanding her entire character. You can see that she actively denies herself joy in order to make life harder for everybody around her.

As someone that has a problem with alcohol and stopped drinking, I agree that it doesn’t sound like either of them has a problem, but I wanted to add on to here that alcoholism looks a look different for different people. Just because you take days off or can do Dry January doesn’t mean you don’t have a problem. I used stuff like that to enable me for a while, to “prove” I wasn’t an alcoholic because I could go a month without drinking even though that’s what I would think about the entire month. Really it comes down to if it is negatively impacting your life (medically, socially, whatever) consistently and you still keep doing it anyway or keep making excuses to keep doing it. Sounds like that isn’t the case for these kings, but taking time to reevaluate your drinking habits is a good thing if you’re being honest with yourself.

I wish this show were 3 hours long! I could listen to this shit all day. Also picked the tv show back up after taking a little post season 4 breather and it’s been great to be back at it. Well, happy Monday to everyone making the pod and to all the commenters reading this! See ya next ep yall!

Not a doctor, but I am an alcoholic. You guys seem fine. You're aware of your consumption, and you both take days off. I would add that someone's superficial reaction to alcohol (embarrassing behavior etc.) isn't much an indication - part of my problem is that I just didn't register to others as being drunk, and I felt free to have a beer or two before doing basically anything. I'm 44 now. Eventually my liver just couldn't process the alcohol anymore and my body told me it was time to stop. I don't miss it.
