OCCT v12 under development, with a preview !

These days have been really busy. v11 launch was a tad complex to be honest, as despite a long time in beta, lots of small bugs have slipped into the stable release. As usual, I tried to iron them oiut very quickly.
v12 development is taking most of my time right now. The main take of v12 will be a full graphical interface rewrite. Why, when the current UI doesn't get any critics ? The reason is simple, and will interest you : it is NOT cross platform. Like, it doesn't run on Linux. It's just impossible
I also want to review some questionable design choices I've made (especially the test configuration screen), and rewriting it fully makes it easier.
This does NOT mean OCCT v12 will run on Linux - it means the biggest roadblock for running on Linux will be out of the way. There will still be quite a bunch of work to do to port all the tests, make monitoring work, so it'll come in a later version. Linux support will be for v13 or v14 most likely.
Why Linux then ? Well, for a simple reason : being able to run on a Live, USB linux installation. Memory overclocking is known to destroy your OS if you're unstable. Having a bootable Linux version means you will never lose your host OS, and can go wild with your overclocking attempts.
Pro users will also see lots of value in it, as they'll be able to test a computer without loading the customer's OS, and not leave any trace on it. This is priceless.
I also suspect some test efficiency will go through the roof, especially Linpack on Intel chips, and the memory test (it will have to be checked in practice).
The Linux version will have its drawbacks - mostly, monitoring isn't in the same state as it is on Windows, and thus, we'll probably end up with much more limited monitoring.
Finally, I have promised you an exclusive voting power for features, and will lmive up to that promise. I have to admit i'm taken back for now by the form it'll take, but this should happen before v12 release, which will probably end up in September or October.
Thanks to everyone's support here, and taking a few one-time job offers to gain some cash, I am almost able to make ends meet and fully support my family. This is very good news, as I am less and less investing personal money just to support my kids. Hopefully, by the end of 2022, I'll break even :)
PS : I've added a small preview of the new UI for OCCT v12. This is still under heavy development, and is far from complete !

I think you're talking about the Advanced thread mode in the CPU test. I currently have a bug in AVX512 where it won't properly cycle. If you set instruction set to AVX2, it should properly cycle.

How the Adaptive mode really works? I have checked only one core but when I start it loads up all the CPUs.

I'd love to see OCCT on fedora linux! Using a flatpack would be great for this program! I believe ls sensors is a good library for Linux sensor polling, could be forgetting the name though. Take care!

I just purchased the $6 plan to get access to adaptive stress test and it's still not available on the application on my computer.

I accidentally pledged 3 instead of 6 to get access to the adaptive stress test. I cant seem to change it and I desperately need to use it as I don't have much time left to stress this card before warranty is up

Hey, I still use the tool. Take your time. I would rather have something working right and assured that it works correctly instead of having a client get angry at me.
