Fair enough. The amount of effort just to get these is far too much for it to be worth it at the moment, so traditional methods will continue!

JC

I find generative AI content to be ultimately distracting. A lot of time, effort, money and environmental implications for a few seconds of "that looks kinda neat". Would rather an investment be made in work towards actual human made animation of these scenes.

Jon Blade

Hmmm... maybe an RTX A6000 needs to find it's way to you ;-)

TheAltrApp

Thanks Jon. They really did come out amazing. Unfortunately the amount of work, time and money (you have to pay per generation) required to get this kind of result is prohibitive at the moment. Once the tech is a bit more reliable I’ll start integrating it into my workflow.

Jon Blade

These are incredible! I would easily pay extra on another tier to get these added.

"WTF is that unbelievable natural cinemaripe movement pattern?!" I was writing and having read now, that it's AI I am still impressed. I mean one sees some errors now and there and I do believe you that you needed plenty of rerolls to snipe these results. I like this testrun of yours. For now and then as a striking "gif-immage" to enhance one scene it surely will work fine and i'd like to see the one or other test now and then. Especially scenes with few character movement like 4 and 5 or the zome in in 2 might do well just to give additional close up cinematic character reactions.

TheAltrApp

Yeah unfortunately the technology is just too inconsistent at the moment to make it work in that way. You’re right that it would take ages. Glad you like them though! Seems like I might be adding them in quite a bit given the positive feedback.

JustinMFnTime

Thats Amazing. Id almost say it would be sweet to get a animated feature in this style. I know it would be crazy time consuming but great scott does it look amazing.

Dastardly Jack

Sure, I wouldn't object.

TheAltrApp

Agree completely. I’ll probably use it quite sparingly. If I can get it to produce results on TF scenes or when I’m trying to get a character to portray a certain emotion it could be very useful. Regarding Zoe’s vote. I’ll try and get that up this weekend. I must admit I’ve been a bit gassed after the last update as it was so intensive. Hopefully next week I’ll be feeling refreshed and ready to go.

TheAltrApp

It’s actually surprisingly difficult to get a useable result! The one that seems to do the best job costs about .50c per attempt and takes about 5 minutes to produce a result. I reckon 1/5 are usable. It will definitely be used sparingly!! You’re not wrong about the acid trip comment. Straight up nightmare fuel!

TheAltrApp

Most of these were done using KlingAI and a couple using Runway.

Polarisdreamer

It doesn't hurt to stay ahead on emerging technology that could help you produce content. But there is a time and place for everything. I think it is a judgment call. It is an investment, it could pay off or it might not. Either way I think you'll be okay. Your content is great. Speaking of which, did I miss the Zoe vote? I don't remember if I saw a notification

Danger Dave

Very impressive! I think as long as you’re selective in how you use it, it could be another useful tool. Just don’t go too far cause some of the Ai stuff looks straight out of a bad acid trip. 😆

毛起來 寵物

May I ask which AI software you use?

TheAltrApp

Agreed! This definitely didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth like using a standalone prompt would. Glad you like it! Would you like to see more of this worked into updates?

Dastardly Jack

Not bad, I'm definitely hanging on to that first one! I'm not a huge fan of AI art generally, but if you're using AI to animate your own art I don't really see a problem with that.

TheAltrApp

Glad you like them. I think they have some good uses, but where things are at currently, they really are best as a supplement to existing tools. At least that's the case for me. Until I can control every element in the scene with them, they will only be able to do stuff like this....

Gooobooo

These look really cool, "AI" tools are horribly inefficient and time wasting, but if you can use someone else's computer to do it, go for it if you think the price is good. I especially like the 2nd lucy gif.

TheAltrApp

It’s definitely a complex issue. I think it comes down to how much the final product reflects the creator’s input versus how much it relies on the AI’s reference data to generate the result.

Mrsenoreddie

Sadly true. I had to be in the middle of 2 people arguing using AI as a filter and is AI art theft?

TheAltrApp

Well, unfortunately that happens anyway with still images!

Mrsenoreddie

They don't look bad but I do get a bad feeling if you are putting your work in, it might taken for someone else and they take credit

Mr. Mysterious

😂

TheAltrApp

Welp, may as well enjoy life before I get nuked or turned into a human battery, right?

Mr. Mysterious

I just hope ai does not lead to a skynet scenario. With the way technology is advancing and tech heads meddling and all...

TheAltrApp

It’s tough to overlook AI when you see what it can do, though as a creator, I find it still lacks the control I need. That said, it’s definitely improving. AI gets a lot of criticism, and I get why, but at the end of the day, it’s just another tool in the artist’s kit. Like any tool, it can produce both amazing work and, well, not-so-amazing work. I think it raises the bar for what counts as good art, and for me, that just means I’ve got to keep my stories top-notch.

Mr. Mysterious

What is with this ai craze thats going around?? Not bad tho 👍
