Had a quad at my high school in Georgia and my college in Florida. They were fairly common in my area.

TN, I don't think we called it a quad. We played this game called Kick Catch and Run where someone would kick a ball up and you had to catch it and essentially runback a touchdown on the blacktop without getting tagged. Stopped being able to play that when a kid ran into a pole.
