Ren'Py Developer Update - April 2024

Shaders will apply to entire blocks of text, so it probably won't be a text tag thing. What I'll look into doing is at least making a vector of extra data available, so there's a little control.

Will it be possible to apply the text shaders via text tags too? One of the other popular plugins is called Kinetic Text tags so you can do wiggly text and such, but it would be nice to have a more official way to add them. Really looking forward to the new features!

The text shaders look awesome! Would these allow sampling textures to do text gradients? Those have long been high on the wishlist for me.
