I'd actually be curios to hear your opinion on a band like Being as an Ocean. Super melodic and emotional hard-core stuff
Zane Price
I would show him something like ERRA. Super melodic and progressive metal core.

Amazing album

Dream Weapon by Genghis Tron is a killer album. A little more vibey than hardcore

For me, Gojira is the band that got me to appreciate harsh vocals a lot more. His voice does something to me.

The Baying of the Hounds too! But Lotus Eater is one of my favourite songs ever.

I think one option for like melodic death metal with (some) clean vocals could have been Opeth, I have a feeling Carl might vibe with something like The Moor or Lotus Eater.
The Flagrant Ones
That’s Ahsohn!
Brian Jackson
Do they ever mention who does the different intro music each week?

Can't believe Carl doesn't like the Cookie Monster trying to convince everyone how hard he is.

Great ep! First, just want to say thanks for the Spy/Maniac recommendation from the previous ep. I think Carl is poised to enjoy some power metal like DragonForce and Iron Maiden with the Power Rangers theme, which rips. I like what you were saying about the progression to death metal, I doubt many start as fans there, but I think there are great starting off points with AFI (a fav) and Avenged Sevenfold to get Carl or someone into Killswitch Engage as mentioned and/or Atreyu. Bands with both the guttural and clean vocals will get someone into Soilwork, who range from death metal to melodic death metal to power metal. And there are great math rock/post hardcore bands that do the melodic/screamy back and forth really well- like I love love sincebyman’s album ‘We Sing the Body Electric’. Anyway, love the show.

Introducing my non-metal friends to death metal, everyone likes the groovy stuff. Even my mom can get into Gatecreeper or Bolt Thrower. But yeah if the vox are a non-starter, death metal is gonna be a tough sell. Loving the heavy music representation y'all!

Love this podcast!

Wysocki? Because-socki. Please say this on the show.

Any chance we get an NHOT Discord setup? They mention discussion boards of yesteryear and I feel like this pod maybe is a bit more about community versus TFO/HH/CCHC kind of just want to make their jokes and will block us if we ever Tweet at them. I get TFO has the songs, but I don’t know anything about basketball.

Can we play the song clips for the what you chewing on segment when they first mention the band?
