Although I am intrigued by the idea of TV antennaes being a stepping stone for world domination and/or broadcasting mortgage ads directly into your mind, I think it’s really just about building the fanbase The Suns are a relatively unpopular team in the nba world and locally I think there’s a lot of people who lost interest over the years because of Sarver (and the team being garbage for many years). With any sport, Arizona is full of people who are fans of teams from other cities. Ishbia spent billions on the team and is going to be footing giant tax bills on the roster for years to come. More engaged fans means more jersey sales, more sponsorship $, etc.

I think a big difference between college/NBA and college/WNBA is that the NBA and college take place at the same time. WNBA starts after the college season is over. So the UCONN fans can go to the Sun games without worrying about missing any UCONN games.
