it’s honestly just vastly harder to execute. way harder to reach up with two hands instead of one. if you are jumping and trying to reach as high as possible, you’re gonna use one hand. most blocks are just coming off of the defender’s fingertips with spin and arc, so they have no real chance at controlling it outside of disrupting the shot or pushing it away. maybe 1/50 blocks are catchable and since they’re so rare and you’re reacting in milliseconds, you’re probably going to default to swatting because it’s almost always the correct option. it takes a lot of elements falling into place for the play to happen which is part of what makes it rare and cool. players with freakish wingspans, vertical, and defensive reading ability will catch a lot of blocks. Bill Russell and KG are good examples. Wemby probably will too.

The championships argument is so stupid in general. There were literally 10 or less teams in the entire league for the first 9 Celtics championships. Obviously the same applies to the Lakers as well.

RSS feed broken but it plays through the patreon app just fine. I did a download in patreon then transferred to my device then imported that file to my podcast app. Hope this helps
