It's Shimatta the "tsu" here is smaller than usual. The small "tsu" is called sokuon, and is used to create a double consonant. It is placed before the consonant that you want to double. For example: まって (wait) is pronounced matte

I think the whole point of him being fluent in Kousukean is because no one else is fluent in Kousukean. I think he rather enjoys the idea of having a language all to himself which I don't blame him for at all lol
