🕑 Added 2024-09-10 22:37:04 +0000 UTCAugust came and went and as if on cue, September brought with it frigid mornings, dry air and a blanket of cat fuzz all over everything. between our Midnight and the neighborhood cats, there's plenty to go around. Jack has had the week off and we had a very busy week partying it up at home, flea market shopping and shooting b roll for future videos.
the dry weather has me feeling like a fish out of water, so while I have a pot of pot purri on the stove, I'll be reviewing the shots we got and, of course, answering your questions.
Would you rather explore the deep ocean and see what else is down there or go into space and see if there is alien life? And what do you think is scarier? go to space. I desperately want to interact with the cosmos, not necessarily extraterrestrials, but celestial bodies and black holes and the energies of galaxies... seems a mortal body would be a small hindrance though.
What is your favorite main dish and side dish in barbecue (if you happen to like it at all)? you know, I used to think I don't like bbq, but it turns out my family just can't cook for shit. I like ribs the best - tender, juicy and well seasoned. brisket is a close second. for side dishes I like anything corn, from grilled corn on the cob (salted butter is a must), to Mexican street corn to corn salads of any kind. if corn isn't an option, I'll have mac and cheese!
Do you listen to any podcasts? yes, I listen to the rotten mango podcast religiously! nothing like falling asleep to gorey descriptions of true crime!
Coca cola or Pepsi? neither! I don't like the diabetes licorice tasting drinks :)
Pineapple on pizza, yes or no? pineapple all the way! I think bacon pineapple is the best pizza ever invented.
Bam! You wake up one morning and you are a guy, biologically, what would you do? explain to my husband that I'm not some pervert that broke into our house overnight! I'd feel like the girl in the K-drama miss night and day who has had to convince everyone she knows it's really her and not some elderly mentally ill lady trying to steal her identity. idk. just crossing my fingers I'd still be cute.
About the Podcast: I would love to have a conversation with you. I think one topic we could talk about is our parents since we both share similar experiences with our mothers. I think that would be a very interesting topic to talk about. Or our experience and perception of Germany and why you don't like it there. I think you could also make great solo-podcasts or with Jack imo. Either way, I would be up for it. I'm honored that you think so highly of me! most days I feel like I don't have anything important to say, but I could go on and on about narcissistic mothers, enabling fathers, emotional abuse, bullying and trauma... I just figured no one wants to hear about that lol. our next door neighbor was home briefly today and I couldn't help but wonder what's going on with him because his footsteps sounded angry. I told Jack as much and he was like "oh, I wasn't paying attention" and it hit me that that's another remnant of growing up in an abusive household I live with like it's normal - being hyper aware of people's footsteps and being able to tell their emotional state through them! what do you mean you weren't paying attention?? he's mad, it's so obvious! I envy his ability to tune out sensory input just by "not paying attention" haha.
What is the most interesting part of being a practicing witch? that's kind of a tricky question as I have nothing to compare my experience to. I don't know what it's like to not be a witch so I can't say what would be the most interesting part to someone who doesn't practice. for me, the most interesting part is seeing how my spells manifest around me. energy always takes the path of least resistance and sometimes the manifestations can be a little unpredictable. that's why they say to be as specific as you can with your intention! last month I cast a spell for receiving, but rather than passively taking in a financial windfall, which I assumed to be the ideal outcome, what happened instead is that my being opened up to actively process more projects, tasks and opportunities than I can normally handle. the outcome has been that I've been able to create more than I am normally able, and do so without being overwhelmed to the point of a nervous breakdown. and if that enables me to receive what I need to create more beauty in this world, so be it.
Any tips on handling heartbreaks/break-ups? heartbreak can be devastating, especially when you've dreamt of a future with that person. you've spent all this time making that one person the center of your universe and now they're gone and instead of revolving around a star, you're floating lonesomely and cold in a dark infinity. that's the harshest reality check there is. perhaps what you mistook for a star was really a black hole sucking you in with their infinite mass, dooming you to an inevitable and total desolation, had you stayed. or perhaps you were simply cast out of orbit by an unforeseen celestial force altering the course of your future. regardless, your life will never be the same, but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. the best way to bounce back from a life altering loss is spite. instead of focusing all your energy on them, strive to become the best, most desirable version of yourself. really show them what they're missing. do all the things you couldn't do while you were with them. have the most fun you've ever had in your life. become comfortable in your own company. it'll still hurt for a while and you can grieve for as long as you need. but there comes a point at which you must grant yourself something better than this. life will move forward, whether you're ready or not, and you must go. you will end up somewhere, whether you want to or not. you may aswell make the most of it! feel the pain and the loss and the emptiness and the numbness, you're entitled to that. but move forward for your own sake. really indulge yourself. take everything that annoyed you about the person even just a little bit, and celebrate that you'll never have to put up with that again. did they hate a certain hobby of yours? throw yourself into it! did they not want you to wear a certain thing? wear it with pride! reclaim all the things you had to give up to be with them - we all did. that's how you pick up the pieces and start building yourself up all over again. somewhere within you is a part of you that you had to push back to be in this relationship. it's their time.
Do you listen to any Rap Music? no. rap and hip hop are the bane of my existence, I wouldn't choose to listen to it if I didn't live in a semi-sketchy part of town where people like to blast it from their car stereos.
Have you ever been to New Jersey before, If so what for? If not, at least what do you know about New Jersey? so far I haven't had a reason to be in New Jersey! I know it's one of the founding states (studying for my citizenship interview) and that the people there apparently have really annoying accents! (I got that from internet memes, I don't actually know)
So you've been a practising witch for 2 decades. Do you have to be born an adept or is this something anyone can do? If you were born to it, how/when did you know? If anyone can learn this, where would you start, if you were starting now? witchcraft is a practice. anyone can practice. if you suddenly decide you want to practice the piano despite having no innate talent whatsoever, you can do that, and you can get good and it can be worthwhile. same with witchcraft. being born with an affinity for the occult only determines how fast you can progress compared someone who is starting at level 1. I had my first spiritual awakening at about age 12 when I realized that unseen forces were calling to me as much as I was looking for them. I don't like it when people ask me what they should do on their own path as the whole point is to be guided by your own intuition, to move closer to yourself and make your own way. that's why I always say, start anywhere. first thing that comes into your head or the thing you feel drawn to the most, start there. buy the book you feel resonates the most with you and the tarot deck with the art that speaks the most to you and the crystal you can't stop thinking about because it's calling to you. if I were starting now, I would pretty much start where I did two decades ago - with controlling my thoughts. if you can control your thoughts, you can make the world respond to you however you wish. it sounds simpler than it is, but the essence of it is true. the first thing that will happen when you learn to control your thoughts is, you will be shown who your adversaries are. because the people who seek to control you will react negatively to you having agency over yourself. you will be shown all the people in your life who benefit from you being weak and small. and your path will lead you to rid yourself of them. ever since claiming agency over myself as a young teen, I have had to deal with overt and covert disapproval, attacks and abuse from my narcissistic mother, power tripping teachers, mean girl bullies and random (yes, completely random people on the street) idiots telling me who I should be, hitting me with completely unprompted criticisms and complaints about whatever bullshit they were projecting onto me and basically telling me I'm doing life wrong for it. my point is, don't expect it to be easy. you will have to affirm your true values a million times through experiences like these but eventually your aura will be strong enough that people like that won't approach you anymore. best of luck.

you know what, gravity on a whole is like of negative. it just draws in. but without it, we run, walk, sit, or lay down. it would kind of make like much harder. but at least earth and our sun aren't crushing us. maybe, enough of a bad thing is a good thing but too much of a bad thing is a worse thing. or maybe some things are just good in the right proportion.

Black holes are the one thing that, for some reason, scare the shit out of me. Whenever there is a movie or a documentary about black holes and they zoom into the hole, I have to look away. Don't know why.
