I watched this movie a couple days ago, and I just wanna say I can't believe you missed the part where Domino is swimming in Largo's pool in a one-piece swimsuit, leaves to get dressed for lunch and comes back wearing a bikini. That honestly felt like something out of a parody.

Invented in 1981 by Sir Emily Trans of Bridgnorth, Shropshire.

"This was before being trans was invented" fucking creased me :D

"We received a transmission from Station L: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch" "Sorry, sir, I was flirting with Moneypenny, what did you say?" ".... go to these coordinates."

"Bond, we're sending you to Station M: Moose Jaw."

The Spy with a Cold Nose - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDdBlMCE9M0 Never had a disc release as far as I can tell, so VHS quality is the best you'll get for now

No Thunderball episode would be complete without the Ron Barassi theme song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXwS9J_ijg8

As far as I'm concerned, Vargas is an asexual icon

A few suggestions for bonus episode material: Modesty Blaise - the character, not the complete failure of a film. Or maybe both. A Dandy in Aspic - a spy film shot in Berlin in 1967, starring Laurence Harvey who was evidently offered the role of Bond. although that may be apocryphal. He did play the lead in The Spy with a Cold Nose, a Bond parody that I have never been able to find. Harry Palmer - supposedly the mundane anti-Bond. That definition alone should be grist for the mill.

I hoped that one of you to accidentally had rewatched the 1983 masterpiece "Never Say Never Again" instead of "Thunderball" and constantly be confused by the small differences and how Sean Connery looks kind of old.

I think it's supposed to imply that the only thing he gets off on is murdering people, in which case I guess you could do some joke on straight edge razor.

Mister Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (not just Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) is the best Bond theme bar none, even in the inferior Dionne Warwick version (Dame Shirley, of course, delivers the definitive interpretation). Also worth noting is that Tom Jones does something really weird in the chorus of Thunderball; he hangs on the n, rather than the preceding vowel. This is an odd way to approach the timing of any word as a singer. In fact, I struggle to think of any other example of an accomplished singer extending a consonant like that.

The Johnny Cash theme actually ties in to the plot, instead of just randomly wedging the word Thunderball into the lyrics.

Vargos was in the seminal 80s hardcore band Minor Threat; ‘don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t fuck’ https://youtu.be/Gx6_wrFZcu0
