🕑 Added 2024-11-22 12:07:43 +0000 UTCMore 3D stuff again. It's not very glamorous just yet, but i'm in the retopology mines again. Took my old winty model and rejigged him with my new style in mind. He still needs his jacket, but for that i'm going to model it in Blender later on.
I also made an IRN BRO can to see if i could wrap my head around UV unwrapping, diffuse maps and texturing, and i think i'm getting there.
...I won't tell you how long i spent recreating the damn nutritional information on the side. The ENTIRE CAN.

That is a very good point. It could serve as a reference for how a given pose or movement might work.

It's honestly the retopology that's melting my brain. I think i understand the rest of it, but that step is torturous.

It's really useful for blocking in scenes, and i'm hoping to use it to make angles more interesting in future 2D stuff too! If i model it myself then i feel like that's a happy compromise too! It's really helpful to wrap your head around weird anatomy stuff.

The 3-D work is impressive, especially the can. Sometimes it's the "simple" things that end up turning into a major endeavor. Visually it's crisp and clean, and definitely a translation of your style into a 3-D form. I honestly like your 2-D art better, but I'm always happy to see someone broadening their skill set. I'm sure that having some more 3-D modeling under your belt will come in handy.
