Sounding like Ian is continuing his role from Villain where he was shagging Richard Burton

Not the point, obviously, the movie needs to happen. But my first thought is if you need an excuse for why you can't do the job, and you just narrowly missed getting crushed by a boulder, maybe break one of your bones. If the boss comes to see you and you've got an arm or leg in a cast, and a giant boulder or crater in your pool, pretty self-explanatory

Abi doesn't remember the 2000s that well because, as we all know, she was born in 2007

(Morbid) I found it interesting that the viscera left on the drinks cabinet after Teddy shoots Harry, looks more like rose petals on tattered silk. I dunno of they did that on purpose but I took that as a crime of passion - you fucked me so I fuck you, much like when H kills Don. Also is it me or are half the cast calling Gal "girl" as a sortof ultimate wolf wistle.

Voice training down to my chest voice (I am a trans man) made my Birmingham accent come back

Weirdly went back to listen to the Heat episode having downloaded this one and Heat to listen on a long flight. The poem gets a mention in the Heat episode too, at the 83 minute mark! Glad we finally got to hear it.

There are a lot of interesting reads on Don Logan, but a personally haunting one is that he comes across as a school bully. The intimidating and threatening nature where nothing you say gets to them was a terrible throwback to my school days. He has an unstoppable urge to torment and agitate, and watching this, it properly set me on edge; it's well cast and brilliantly played. As a motoring journalist, the Porsche read is a good one. Porsche, in the late 90s, was stumbling around trying to reinvent itself. They'd struggled to find success with the trans-axle series cars and were desperate to find a means of reinventing the 911 for the new age. It was a marque running out of time, and by the late 90s, the 993 series 911 was desperate for retirement, the last of the air-cooled old guard of Porsches clinging on. Potentially a parallel with Teddy, a gangster from a previous generation, going for one last job. Porsches through the 80s were also the choice of the city boy done good. if you'd made bank from banking, chances are you'd later find yourself wrapped around a telegraph pole in the remains of what was once your Stuttgart built sports car (if you did ok, you got a 924, decently, the 944, really well a 911 and very well indeed, a 911 turbo which was just a fast track to a major car accident). It carried on that affect of greed with a touch of nouveau riche to the 90s and unintentionally doubled down on it come the 00s as the Boxster and especially the Cayenne hit their stride.

The “why are you swearing I’m not swearing” drop alone forced me to rewatch the film not once but twice this week 🔥

Don Logan: "Will you commit to this programme?"

John Leavitt

as a pasty husky gay guy Ray Winstone is ..insanely hot in this role but also it's funny how many guys who love this movie don't get the gay shit the Ian McShane character is up to
