Joey realizing about Monica and Chandler is iconic, and one of my favourite moments from the show. The fact that it’s Joey of all people who puts two and two together first just makes it even better. If I were Ross I would have offered Emily a compromise - to never be alone with Rachel until Emily feels okay about it. Emily is 100 % justified in her feelings about Rachel (even though the fandom seems to disagree), but that way he wouldn’t have to cut her out of his life completely.
