I normally go for 3 to 4 perimeters with around 30 % infill for the main body of the helmet and then 3 perimeters at 15% for the other parts. I cannot really give any advice on supports as this just dependant on how you decide to print it.

Jannis Jacobsen

Do you have any recommendations for print settings, supports etc? When I import the parts in my slicers, they are very weirdly oriented to the build platform :)

Chris Atkins

Thank you so much for the tip!

Not with the files as they are. I make all my files to print on a 200mm^3 build volume. What you would have to do is slice the files in half using something like meshmixer.

Chris Atkins

Silly question! Just starting out 3d printing. Will i be able to print the whole file in pieces on a printer with a 120x120x120 print bed :)?

MICHAEL MACARTNEY

Well the lenses would be one example of lights there's also the bits on the side of the helmet, there's usually two lights added there. I think I'll go ahead and start printing this and mod it as I go along. Just need to work out scaling

Lilykill

I have now changed the files so download the new zip file should be fine. At roughly eye level the inside is 275mm front to back and 228mm side to side.

Lilykill

By lights you mean for the lens right?. At the moment I'll see what people do with it as I mod the file to suit what I would do, it might not be the same as what other might do. I rather see what is the best way chosen by actual cosplayers and help then do it that way.

I know, will be awesome to see and great, please leave any feedback if you have any problems.

Looks amazing! Definitely putting this on my printer ASAP to mess around with. Within the files however "Chin Rivot" seems like it has part of the helmet still remaining. I've currently got another NCR Ranger helmet but its a bit too small on my head to wear comfortably. What is the size of the hole for sticking your head in and what is the ID of the helmet?

MICHAEL MACARTNEY

<3 This will make an ideal replacement for my current one that is very difficult to wear.. between the heat and fogging of the lenses it only ever made it out once. Great work. Will the version with fans include space for adding the lights to the side of the helmet? Also what's the default size of helmet?

Chris Atkins

Excellent work! I can't wait to see the one with fans as well! I think Ill be printing that one off as soon as its posted :3
