I think it is less of a family curse and more of a family demon ? lol, like a specific entity that hasn’t managed to possess Thiago yet, but desperately wants to. But it can only possess something that is dead which is why it resurrects the dog and the vet, but still these are just a way for it to get to Thiago…. This is also why it killed Vera off, because the demon knew that Thiago would never leave his life and be possessed if the love of his life was still there. I mean, this still doesn’t explain everything tbh, but a demon seems to be the one behind all of these terrible things happening to Thiago in my opinion

okay intro!!! totally agree that the book itself has very good spooky scenes, whereas the thread connecting all these spooky scenes is kind of a tattered, confusing thread. creepy milkshake spider man did genuinely scare me! but what did he have to do with the curse even like?? very excited for next month's book!
