Never experienced a wildfire (I live in a big city, or what passes for a big city in this part of the world), but I can imagine the trauma that comes with being forced to flee one's own home for any reason. I've also traveled around California a fair bit, and I know how susceptible these forests are to going up in flames. Sad part is - the scars in the landscape will remain for years; decades, even. Wonder what that's gonna do to property values. :/

Yep. The cause of Park was a white male who lit his mother’s Yaris on fire and dumped it in a ditch, then walked away. He’s in custody now while evidence is gathered.

The Caldor Fire burnt near where I live, and charred a short hiking trail I enjoy. The topsoil is still ash and trees are chalk white or charred. Glad you’re safe. Hope the jackass who started it gets life.
