i haven’t watched yet but the bauer maga stuff is interesting considering how many dodgers are latino, if you’ve been to a game it’s a good 50% of all the fans

I agree that Bauer has earned the criticism that he has faced and likely deserves more as well. However, I feel that sometimes baseball media people focus too heavily on Bauer because he’s so loud and so present in their world. For example, in the Effectively Wild episode about Bauer’s signing Ben and Meg talked about a lot of the issues with Bauer but when Urias came up the only thing they said was that he’s a promising young pitcher (despite Urias’ domestic violence allegations). The same thing happened when Arozarena’s domestic violence and kidnapping allegations came out last fall. They were barely discussed at the time and I doubt it’ll be much more than a paragraph on his Wikipedia page going forward. It’s not that I think Bauer should be criticized less, but I do think that we need to talk more regularly about these much more harmful acts that are committed in less public venues and which affect baseball media members less directly than Bauer’s actions do.

Not gonna lie Bailey. Love your content, and I am far from trying to cast judgement or tell you how to feel or think, but I really believe you should re-examine your opinion on Bauer. Espousing anti-Semetic conspiracies (https://twitter.com/RollsonShabbos/status/1357756169293545476) birtherism (https://twitter.com/baueroutage/status/830066098687049728?lang=en) climate change denial (https://twitter.com/BauerOutage/status/830056378605633536) transphobia (he has deleted multiple tweets in which he claimed he identified as "12 years old") claiming that the Cleveland Baseball team's former name isn't racist (https://twitter.com/BauerOutage/status/829953955396513794?s=20) and last but not least his unapologetic targeted harassment of women via his platform, something which he once again refused to admit was a bad thing to do in his Dodgers intro presser. But! He did apologize to fans of other teams for "accidentally" posting team-related merch on his site with a long multi-tweet thread in which he was quite apologetic! It is not even close to the same as you QT'ing some dumbass and owning them, then some of your followers join in inadvertently -- he was actively trying to direct his mob at them. This is the same tactic that Barstool uses, not that I even want to begin talking about them. There is politics, then there is all of this childish, irresponsible, and disgusting behavior. And there are plenty of more things that I have not touched on. Many people in mainstream baseball media give him a pass or write these awful fawning soft pieces on him, because they CRAVE access. Hopefully the LA media puts the screws to him, you can already see from TB's twitter likes that he is annoyed at the very least. This is not good for baseball. I appreciate you Bailey, hope you dont take this the wrong way from me. Proud supporter of your work.
