I'm hoping the birth of Space AT&T gets covered a bit during the 1st Succession War talk.

I desperately want something genuinely chunky for the FedCom Civil War 😮

Happy to see my pick winning, but all great choices. Two questions: You’ve compared Marik to space Austro-Hungary, but could you elaborate. Considering their performance in the Napoleonic Wars and WW1, I wouldn’t call them winners. If you can, could you share how much you’ve raised for charity with the channel. Are we above $100k??

Ghost of Tanith

Shhh! They parse through text as well! Everybody loves com-star, right?

Haleion

Tex rags on galaxy wide monopoly telecommunications company and then has major IT fuckery….coincidence?????

Michael Sullivan

I hope one of the subjects of the First Succession War will be the Kentares Massacre.

PS: will there ever be a Tex Talks about Merc groups such as Wolf’s Dragoon’s, Kell Hounds etc. ?

Definitely the Succession wars first. Then it’ll lead in perfectly into the Clan Invasion.

SaxonMan

hmmm choices choices

Ghost of Tanith

So much LORE! Guess I will go for Reunification

Reunification war, for sure. Yeah though, I'd love to see something on *all* the choices, eventually.

freedeau

All good choices, of course. I voted Reunification war because I think most folks will have less knowledge on the subject as there is less published work on the topic. Succession wars would be a great follow up to that, along with house or merc deep dives. I could also see a TTB on Eridani LH, which would touch on all ScnWars, lead into a full TTB on each Scn War. AAARRRGGHHH, why is this universe so expansive!!!!!!

Thanks for everything and all your hard work. Love the TTB and the Pod cast . I will second the Constant doc .No pressure just whenever.

If a ComStar talk is off the table, I'd say Reunification Wars

Sorry to hear about the dodgy net. Time to exorcise some demons. I heard in the last audio upload that you still need original art. I'm working on something to contribute (assuming you touch on the Warjammer IIC). Is there an email to make art submissions to?

Comstar?

It's all good, whatever you do it'll be great

Michael Kimberling

Primers on the great houses? I remember you mentioning that properly going over a single house would be crazy huge. Would it be possible to do what you did with the clans? Also when it comes to electronics I recommend punching. It seems to work 0.08% of the time.

Michael Kimberling

If all else fails offer up a toaster. The Omnissah loves toasters.

Maxx31

I know the woes well. I have an affinity to destroy technology. I have gotten the blue screen of death on 2 Panasonic Toughbooks. And those they gave to Marines to try and break.

Precentor Van Zandt, Matthew King

I'd like to see an entire talk on the Taurian Concordat, but second best would be the Reunification Wars, as it is so Hippity Hoppity heavy.

Hay I know the succession wars is a big ask, and in there entreaty I can’t imagine how complicated that is, but please, yes please !

Anything hippity hoppity brings on the chuckles on my end, so I’ll vote to laugh and learn hard

Nothing to add, I just wanted to say I am loving how yall keep making better and better 80s style, blockbuster vibe movie openings for the Battletech documentaries.

Adrian

Whoops, hit Return prematurely. So I have been pondering something about the Battletech / Mechwarrior mechanics. In Battletech, especially HBS's game, with the right equipment, light mechs can become almost un-hittable. In a real-time game like any of the Mechwarrior series, do lights ever become so quick and nimble in game that they can use this agility to avoid taking damage?

Adrian

Hey Tex, Mike and everyone involved in this insanity. Loving it. Was blown away by the Marauder episode I had to start tipping some cash into the jar to keep this stuff coming.

Argus9 (Jonathan)

Succession wars personally. It makes up such a huge chunk of BattleTech's history and as I go through the books learning about them, I find I just want to know more. And nobody can do this like the BPL!

Those are rough choices, hopefully you guys get around to all of them….eventually….

There’s not a turd in the bunch. Got my vote in, but not easy

Succession Wars are my top vote, followed by Clan Invasion, then last the FedCom Civil War.

David Melton

Reunification War is first choice, followed by Succession Wars. My selection of “Other” for item number three would be for something like the three hidden wars of the Star League era. I am bored with clans and word of Blake Jihad . I still find succession wars - even the third - interesting, and more so than clan/Blake. I NEVER get tired of one thing though - battletech illuminati conspiracies (could it, perhaps, be ComStar?)

Xinthar

Reunification war is probably the thing i know the least about so i wish to increase knowledge

Hey Tex if you start at Succession War one do a full write up of all the Warship fleets!!!!!

Would love the fedcom at some point, but doesn't look like it's this time, it was my jumping on point of lore for battletech

Dark Azial

At my time it's a dead tie, I hope he decides to do both separated by an mech or two.

I'm ready for some Succession Wars stuff. It's what got me interested in Battletech in the first place. I'll also lodge a silent "Other" vote for histories related to famous merc companies... you know, for later.

I can't say there is any one subject I would like to hear about more than another. What would you like to cover?

IT woes are terrible. What's worse, no internet or SLOW internet? I tossed my vote at the Clan Invasion. The reason being that the book series (Blood of Kerensky trilogy) and the characters (Phelan Kell, Victor Steiner-Davion, and Kai Allard-Liao) are some of my favorites in the setting. I'd like to see what the other source material says.

Daniel S

Goddamn Comstar.

I'm actually 100% behind this. There's a huge game in media (that I've seen at least) that covers the Wobbie Insanity. Mech4 Mercs ends with teasing the Bloody Hand of Blake and the hit-and-miss Dark Age books all took place after the Jihad had been done for a while and everything was cleaned up and pretty... For about three weeks.

Andrew N

Sucks to hear about your IT struggles. My router pulled the same stunt earlier this month. That said, Id love to hear about the Reunification Wars. I feel like thats part of the history of the Inner Sphere that isnt well documented or talked about much, plus that would provide some great context for your great series on the Amaris Civil War, and for possible future episodes about the Succession Wars.

Captain Hazelwood

Tossing my vote at reunification wars because I think it would fit nicely with the theme of the past several talks. It honestly feels like with the Mackie episode a new era began and the origins are being told in great detail. I think carrying that forward with the reunification and then getting into the succession wars would be good form.

Kasperl Stormcrow

I'm voting for other. Specifically I'm voting for a history on Snord's Irregular's.

Face Into Keyboard

I had a similar problem once upon a time, turns out it was a weird setting in my mobo's LAN card software, throttling the upload speed.

MechaParade

Comstar or Capellan fuckery? They don’t want the truth known.

Gardefan

This. Plus, I'd love to explore the Great Houses more, the inner workings and origins of each. Obviously that probably won't be covered this time, but either way, still excited!

Khadgarion

Someone didn't pay their space AT&T bill!

Gardefan

Sorry to hear your tech has been fucking up. Gotta say I think you got more patience than I do when stuff doesn't work. I'd probably end up throwing my computer across the room and then instantly regretting it! Putting my vote in the Succession Wars. Partially because it's THE 'Classic Battletech' era aside from Clan Invasion and I wanna know more about it, annnnnd also because I think it's the one you've least explored so far outside of 'Kerensky left, everyone kept throwing everything they had until they were down to rocks and worn out mechs.' On a Battletech-related note, did ya hear there's a new Gray Death novella coming out? Not sure how ya feel on the Illkhan era (still unsure myself), but kinda excited to check it out.

Sorry to hear of the tech woes, praise Blake maybe? I'll keep pushing the suggestion I made on Twitter, I'd love to hear rhe history of some of the manufacturers in Battletech, like a deep dive into the history of Defiance Industries would be amazing. Plus we get to hear the phrase "Military Industrial Complex" about 500 times, but this time it will be literally about a military industrial complex.

Yumemi Hoshino

I think before we hit the Invasion, we need to know what the Great Houses were doing, glassing one another into submission. ...HOW they were glassing one another into submission, I suppose.

Whatever topic the polls decide, we will watch and enjoy. Praise Zorg!

Yawg

Oh come on, Clan Invasion would be WAY INTERESTING.

Jihad? For the lolz as the old adults would say

Kharakian

Obviously Tex, you haven't given proper offerings to the Omnissiah for your technology to work properly! On a serious note, looking forward to the next TTB. Don't stress yourself out though!
