Yeah. I even applied to be Mage Fisher's Apprentice. I just really want to learn Horse Explosion

Packrat

I found those duncan fisher BPL videos just a few months ago. Oh man i almost cried.

My Beloved Centurion has lost... How much Scotch would Duncan Fisher require to cast Horse Explosion on the judges?

FlyingTorpedoWhale

No Pixie. *sad noises of MG ammo going boom* HBK it is then

Chrome

No Crab. Must resort to Hunchback.

Ethan Fisher

That game was my introduction to the setting. I was a monster with a Shadow Cat. I keep my parents old Windows XP PC running just to play older games like that.

And he generally picks Lyran.

The only question I have is: how are you doing?

Gardefan

Based on prior vids, he actually prefers the Awesome.

Rebel Rebel

To everyone not voting Centurion, if you don’t switch your vote then the Hunchback will will

Tex, if you were a mech pilot in Battletech. What would your preferred mech and unit affiliation be? I assume Marauder and Black Watch but you never know till you ask.

Snord's Irregulars Talk When?

seething over the lack of Centurion love

Lexiconjurer

How are ya'll not going to vote for that sweet, sweet, quad? The Scorpion is the peak of mech design and, out of fear that they had reached the limits of what man's vision could achieve, refused its four legged glory to languish in the engineering culdesac of two legged mechs.

Ghost of Tanith

Standard? No. I want that P! Now if I could stencil Marvin the Martian on to my Sway-Back. IMMA FIRRIN MAH LASAH BEEEAAAAM!

Baron Ouranos Helaine

Bushwacker. The bushiest of all whackers, the whackiest bush!

Gardefan

So many good mechs, so many solid choices. Torn between the Griffin, the original medium Mech, the Centurion which, at least in my opinion, is the quintessential medium mech, the Hatchetman cuz giant axes are fun, annnnd the Hunchback, cuz who doesn't want to strap the biggest gun(s) to the smallest platform possible?

I want whatever mech pushes forward the lore. The medium Marauder.

Kasperl Stormcrow

WHERE CRAB?

He talks about that in one of the podcast Q&As I'm pretty sure

Seems many folks want their medium mechs to be....overcalibrating for something.

As a self styled bushwacker pilot, the support pleases me, but I do not understand meme worthy nature of our valiant steeds.

Hunchback for life!

Molly the Bully

Where's the "Yes, in that order!" option :-P

Gotta go with the scorpion, weird mechs are great.

James Schardt

I am in the minority in that I actually hate the standard Hunchback. I still want to see the story behind it.

I always thought the Hollander was always a fun concept that didn't seem to execute terribly well. But God damn if it didn't look ridonkulous as fuck in the best way.

The Hunchback, my most favorite of all the "weird" mechs. It's like a Hollander, but without so much sucking. :D Plus it always makes me think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DyPn_3bNzg

Big Nick Rethemeyer

I think the Trebuchet is a Wonderful support asset that doesn't get enough love. Like the Mark 12 5"/38 caliber gun of WWII, it is versatile, fast operating, reliable, and dependable. Useful against anything you can point it at. But like the 5" gun it gets overshadowed by less versatile but more powerful weapons. (Let's see your 8-inch/55-caliber pick off aircraft, or your precious Hunchback hit anything at 10 hexes!)

Unashamed Nerd

Got to go with the good ol' Bushwacker, the first mech I piloted back in MW3 days. That mech always seemed to punch above it's weight class and I loved it!

William Frank

A buddy of mine has a Rhino. It feels a little weird the first time you shoot it. After that, it’s just a revolver. The low bore axis helps for follow up shots, but you have to be a better shooter than me to really get anything out of it.

William Frank

If you don’t follow the channel already, check out Ian over at Forgotten Weapons. First off, as a gun enthusiast, you’ll love the channel, but more to the point, he discusses getting into gunsmithing in a couple of his Q&As and some of his book reviews are books on that subject.

PPC's4Life!

Canister shot for bog standard AC 10's and 20's before LBX's were rediscovered yay or nay? I feel like it would be useful for scything down large groups of infantry or soft skinned vehicles.

Urst_

What about the Hollander II (the II is a medium, though the rest of them are lights.)? It's a walking Gauss Rifle turret! How fucking cool is that?

My question for video is, why come my family's 300 year old heirloom war robot do only last about 2 minutes and 30 seconds of combat like wtf bro I am a disgrace to my ancestors

Mike Gehri

No cicada!? :(

Dantels

I was hoping for the Vindicator because making Tex talk about the best thing to come out of Cappellan space till St. Ives turned into Space Taiwan amused me.

The Charger!

Jalatron

I vote now with hope that one day we'll have a Kodiak video.

defaultsettings

Hunchback is the go for me. I love that ungainly fucker.

The Hunchie for sure. Also, I don't think you need to make every mech video an hour long. 30 minutes is plenty of time. Save that time for exploration of topics like the Star League, Clans, etc.

The Enforcer is iconic in its own way and there is SOOO much potential in that medium level brute.

The Hunchback and Centurion fit really well in the 'underweight heavy' category, and their low speed and high armor/weapons make them great starter mechs, but I went for the Bushwhacker simply because I know next to nothing about it outside of its MW4 appearance as a kind-of-lame medium mech that didn't have the oomph of a Uziel.

I just want to see tex talk about a quad mech

Hunchback all the way, you can do the IS version and then the clan version!

Mechanist Grimm

Hunchie for the classic medium brawler with the shoulder(s) to carry allies! Also Tex what are your thoughts on the Chiappa Rhino? Thinking of getting one in .357 and the look kinda grew on me. Keep taking time to care for yourself and keep being Awesome!

HumidNut

Status on the BPL presentation of Macbeth?

CattusExMachina

Have you ever taken out a battlemaster with a locust? It's been that kind of week

Bradley D Williams

phoenix hawk

Vindi AA variant!

Maxx31

How do you feel about Isaac Asimov’s Foundation novels? Apple TV is about to suck me in with a Foundation TV series. The actor who played Anderson Dawes in The Expanse is Hari Seldon.

Hunchie, bro

Hey Tex, I would like to know your opinion on the M-1 Garand.

Argus9 (Jonathan)

Hard to choose...the scorpion for being a quad mech, the hunchback and centurion for just how iconic they are, and the hatchetman to understand how melee weapons began to factor into mech design. Looking forward to it no matter which one on the above list gets picked!

Yawg

Hatchetmaaaaaaaaan! Mostly cause I love anything close to the industrial mechs that’ve been retooled. Very Killdozer-y to me. Speaking of: Hey Tex, if you had to stave off a bunch of pirates from trying to plunder you patch of Periphery Potatoes, what industrial mech would you use to repel borders on your future farm?

Hellspawn...um cause reasons.

Isimiel

I wanna see tex derp around in Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead

Turai

HBK and CN9 would be interesting as they are really solid medium mechs that are seen almost everywhere in the IS for a long while.

CookingUp

It was a tough choice, but I went Centurion. Tex, could you recommend any books/videos for an aspiring gunsmith? I’m an electrical engineer, and have been collecting/learning about small arms as best I’m able, but would like to advance beyond simply knowing how to assemble an AR from parts. Thank you

John Benson

My vote is for the HBK, its just so straightforwardly pugnacious. Cent would be a close second.

William Frank

You know you want to vote for Yen-Lo-Wang…

William Frank

The best the you can hope for from Tex saying anything nice about Capellans is, at least they’re not Jade Falcon

Mad Ducks

I'm torn between the Centurion and the Bushwhacker. Both very noteworthy mechs in the lore.

The Night Clerk

Hunch Bunch for the win!

Reza Chan

@hazelwood I understand that but their effect is minor and they play the role (in my experience) of more like an atmospheric effect than actual important focus of the game. The infantry of 40k are as important, effective, and highlighted as any vehicles, knights, or titans. That balance means that people who love any of those aspects have room to express themselves but (again in my gameplay experience) people who love infantry or tanks in battletech don't have much room to express that. I wonder if battletech could grow to include the other aspects so they were almost as important as mechs while still being battletech? Would the current fans even be ok with that?

Chris Stochaj

Are there any of the Age of War mechs (Swordsman, Ymir, Firebee, Gladiator) that you’re partial to?

tAU_786

Tex did farcry with a cop Can he do brutal legend with a musician?

Captain Hazelwood

Despite lack of current production models. The infantry and tanks are very much a part of the expanded battletech tabletop to the extent that scenario play heavily relies on them and entire armies of tanks can be fielded for the similar cost of a single mech lance.

Reza Chan

Question for YouTube. 1. Do you think a game that sidelines infantry, tanks, and air to focus so much on mechs can replace 40k for people that care about those other aspects? 2. Could battletech ever grow to include infantry, tanks, and air to a point where they would be as important as mechs? Could that happen and still be battletech? Thanks for your insight.

Jason Turner

Question for you Tex. If you had unlimited resources, what historical conflict would you want to bring to the big screen, knowing that you would be allowed to make it as accurate as possible?

freedeau

All y'all crazy... Nothing tells clanners to "get off muh lawn" like a good Choppy Boi.

Brian

Sorry my bad, I was going to be like "in my opinion there is no hope!" They should embrace 3d printing for their forgeworld side though

Hunchback, for when you absolutely, positively have to ruin THAT GUY'S day in particular.

Rebel Rebel

Centurion- a classy way to stomp your enemy flat

Sgt Potshot

Well, yeah. That's a Clan Heavy, & we're choosing a IS Medium.

Hey Tex, in your opinion, what would it take for games workshop to save Warhammer?

ChainsawSnuggling

Hunch Bunch represent!

Feel like the Bushwhacker is the ugly duckling misfit of battlemechs, an ugly duckling that deliver a world of pain in a compact frame. Which means it's perfect for Tex to cover.

Brian

The bushwacker is a fine mech! A testament to the ingenuity of the cooperation of the inner sphere.

Face Into Keyboard

Went with the Centurion. I'd love to see Eldonious's take on it with how it has varied over the years.

Ghost of Tanith

The Fucks a scorpion mech? I almost want to vote for it just for the sake of comprehension.

Michael Carpenter

No nice for Capellans or Kuritan and I am a Kuritan!

Bronze Goose

Come on Hunchback!

Kizik Ucalegon

Maybe QuadVees too!

Sean O'Donnell

Woohoo voting time! A question for Tex to cover... well, let's go with something light hearted and fun and enjoy the hobby. Question: Will you ever say something nice about the Capellan Confederation? Aside from the props for them keeping the factory for the Catapult running for so long.

Baron von Muffinbeard III

Do you know if there are any YouTube channels that cover the house politics of battletech well? Or is the best method to learn more independent research in the books and wiki?

Jonathan Ginsburg

Hunchback or vindicator

William Frank

I have to admit, I’m voting Centurion, just so Tex can talk about Yen-Lo-Wang, and Justin sticking the knife in the Cappie’s back and twisting

THE BLACK PANTS LEGION

Yes, I forgot a few. I feel bad for that. However, it was all I could remember off the top of my head in a 5 minute work-break. I'll probably cover the main and the runner up.

Tetatae Exchange Student

Its also worth considering the story behind each of the mechs, and why they exist in the universe. If the Scorpion wins, does this mean Tex has to talk about LAMs? 🤣

Tanall

Four legs good, two legs baaaaad.

no cauldronborn :( boo... bushwacker it is

I voted for the starter mech from MechWarrior 3. It was my first introduction to this universe, and still my favorite mw game. Wish I could reliably get it running on my current machines.

BZArcher (Blind Zen Archer)

I know why the Bushwhacker is probably gonna win, but I’m still hoping the Hunchie pulls ahead.

Well, the instructions say "choose all that apply" and I want you to cover them all, so that obviously means all must be selected!

As someone who knows nothing about battle tech I'm just going to go by which ones sound the coolest

Cpt. Wedge

I would love to vote for the Phoenix Hawk, but I shall abide by the list and vote for the Wolverine.
