Sunscreen is your friend. I tend to look like that when I don't wear it. Never have tanned. I just go from pink to red to "Holy shit, it's Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!!!"

I actually did get a plastic marble run several years back! Lots of fun to build, although sadly I had to get rid of it after a move. Rather large footprint those things have.

I wish I still had my Domino Rally sets from when I was a kid... :( Actually... one toy I REALLY wanted but never got were those plastic marble run sets that had the tubes which locked together and the twisty pieces and everything... I still have all of my marbles from childhood actually... hmm...

I see you are in the "pasty and burn easily" category of skin types. My mom is 100% Norwegian so she tans like, 0% and burns right away. My dad tans like crazy though, so it helped give me a little bit of leeway with melanin despite being super pale myself, haha. :) Though I am way better with remembering to put on sunblock these days lately - my farmer's tan isn't so severe as it was in past years. :P How'd you get so burned anyways? Too much thrifting? haha
